Roasted, the restaurant in the Salemtown neighborhood of Nashville where a gunman opened fire on Easter Sunday, killing one and injuring multiple others, announced Tuesday it is closed until further notice in the wake of the incident.
“As our team continues to process and heal we will be closed until further notice. We appreciate your continued thoughts and prayers for everyone involved in this tragic incident,” the restaurant wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
In another post, the restaurant said it stands in support of “combating gun violence” amid the incident.
“We are cooperating and trusting authorities as they continue the investigation of this heinous crime. We stand with Mayor O’Connell, Councilman Jacob Kupin, and the City of Nashville in combating the gun violence in our community,” the restaurant said. “Our Roasted family will continue our commitment to supporting our community and providing an authentic cultural dining experience. We will be working closely with local authorities and community leaders to understand how we can prevent such tragedies in the future and to ensure the safety and well-being of our community.”
Hours after the shooting, the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) released the identity of the man being sought for the shooting.
The man has been identified as Anton Rucker, 46, who is a convicted felon with a long criminal history, according to MNPD.
MNPD said Rucker has aggravated assault convictions in Nashville and was arrested in Murfreesboro on felony drug charges last October and on aggravated assault and gun charges last August.
Rucker is out of jail on a combined $50,000 bond, according to court records reviewed by The Tennessee Star.
MNPD said Rucker fled the crime scene in a gray Mercedes GLS 450, which has since been located near 26th Ave N & Jefferson St.
Rucker, now one of Tennessee’s most wanted, remains at large.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is offering a $2,500 reward for the individual who provides information leading to Rucker’s arrest.
