Bonnie Brezina, who serves as the state director of Marsy’s Law for Tennessee, said the proposed constitutional amendment that would expand the rights of crime victims is still on track to be presented to voters on the 2026 general election ballot.

Marsy’s Law, which passed the Tennessee House unanimously and the State Senate by a 27-3 vote earlier this year, must again pass both chambers by a two-thirds majority this upcoming legislative session in order to be presented to voters in 2026.

Ohio to Launch Statewide Human Trafficking Hotline Later This Year

Ohio is expected to launch the first-ever statewide human trafficking hotline later this year, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced at his office’s fifth annual Human Trafficking Summit held in downtown Columbus last week.

The statewide hotline number – 844-END-OHHT (844-363-6448) – will “funnel incoming tips on suspected sex and labor trafficking directly to law enforcement,” according to Yost’s office.

State Senator Brent Taylor Sets Up Crime Victim Hotline to Gather Complaints Against Shelby County DA Steve Mulroy

Tennessee State Senator Brent Taylor (R-Memphis) announced Monday that his office has set up a hotline for crime victims and current or former staff members of the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office to gather complaints against District Attorney Steve Mulroy.

Last week, Taylor announced that he intends to file a Senate Joint Resolution immediately following the November election requiring the removal of Mulroy.
