Tennessee State Senator Kerry Roberts (R-Springfield) announced that he will embark on a 100-mile bicycle ride on the one-year anniversary of the devastating flooding in Waverly and Humphreys County to raise money and awareness for the flood victims.

On Tuesday, Appalachia Service Project (ASP) hosted a Home Dedication ceremony for five new, mortgage-free homes in Humphreys County for five flood survivors who lost their homes during the August 2021 flooding. The five homes completed are a part of ASP’s 25-home commitment to help low-income residents of Humphreys County recover after the flooding, according to a press release by the organization.

Loretta Lynn’s Flood Relief Efforts Raise More Than $930,000 for Tennesseans in Need

On Thursday, country music artist Loretta Lynn revealed that her Hometown Rising concert on Monday raised more than $930,000 for middle Tennesseans impacted by the deadly flood in August that killed 20, left more than 270 homes destroyed, and damaged more than 500 structures.
