Newt Gingrich Commentary: Youngkin vs. McAuliffe and Their Two Opposing Strategies

Terry McAuliffe and Glenn Youngkin

Virginia was supposed to be a solid blue state. Joe Biden carried it by 10 points. Since 2013, Democrats have won 13 straight statewide elections. Terry McAuliffe is a former governor who started this race with a massive name recognition advantage and presumably a substantial advantage in knowledge about state government.

Yet, today the race is too close to call. If McAuliffe does win, he will barely squeak through in a state the Democrat should be carrying handily.

And, of course, there is a distinctly real possibility (I would say a probability) that Glenn Youngkin will become the next governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

That matches with polling from a variety of sources that show an increasingly close race.

“We can no longer say this is a contest where the Democrat has the advantage. While many of the fundamentals favor [Terry] McAuliffe — and we expect he still has a slight edge — it’s Youngkin who seems to have the enthusiasm on his side,” CPR reported.

Commentary: Democrats Don’t Fear Brett Kavanaugh – They Fear the Constitution

Bernie Sanders

by David Harsanyi   Sure, some of the anger aimed at President Donald Trump’s nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court is partisan bluster meant to placate the activist base. Still, most Democrats were going to get hysterical about any pick, because any conservative pick was going to take the Constitution far too literally for their liking. For those who rely on the administrative state and coercion as a policy tool—forcing people to join political organizations, forcing them to support abortion, forcing them to subsidize socially progressive sacraments, forcing them to create products that undermine their faith, and so on—that’s a big problem. Some, such as former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, indulged in the histrionic rhetoric we’ve come to expect in the Trump era, claiming that Kavanaugh would “threaten the lives of millions of Americans for decades to come.” But almost none of the objections coming from leading Democrats have been even ostensibly about Kavanaugh’s qualifications as a jurist or, for that matter, his interpretation of the Constitution. [ The liberal Left continue to push their radical agenda against American values. The good news is there is a solution. Find out more ] “Specifically,” prospective presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif.,…

George Rasley Commentary: How And Why Virginia’s Democratic Governor Terry McAuliffe Caused the Deaths of Three People In Charlottesville

by George Rasley ConservativeHQ.com Editor   “The police actually allowed us to square off against each other,” a Black Lives Matter protester told CNN. “There were fights and the police were standing a block away the entire time. It’s almost as if they wanted us to fight each other.” “Where are the police?” One Antifa protester said in the crowd. “I don’t see any police here!” While the Far-Left dominated national media has concentrated on driving the narrative that President Trump somehow embraces “white nationalism” an astonishing set of facts about who is responsible for the chaos of the Charlottesville riot has emerged. That reporting by truth-seeking independent journalists has revealed that, more than any other single person, it is Virginia’s Democratic Governor Terry McAuliffe who is responsible for the deaths of Heather Heyer, Trooper-Pilot Berke M. M. Bates. Pilot Lt. H. Jay Cullen, because he ordered his Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security Brian Moran to disperse the lawful “Unite the Right” protesters directly into the unlawfully gathered thugs of the anarchist and Black Bloc movement. What’s more, McAuliffe held back the riot control-equipped police and allowed the unlawfully assembled Antifa shock troops to repeatedly charge the lawfully…
