Georgia Governor Brian Kemp Breaks Silence on Trump Indictment

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp responded to former President Donald Trump’s indictment in the Peach State for his alleged role in attempting to “overturn” the results of the 2020 election.

“The 2020 election in Georgia was not stolen,” Kemp wrote in a social media post on Tuesday. “For nearly three years now, anyone with evidence of fraud has failed to come forward – under oath – and prove anything in a court of law. Our elections in Georgia are secure, accessible, and fair and will continue to be as long as I am governor.”

“The future of our country is at stake in 2024 and that must be our focus,” Kemp added.

Kemp’s reaction came after a grand jury approved 10 indictments in Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ election probe – which included Trump and 18 others – Monday evening. The indictments come two and a half years after Willis launched her investigation into Trump’s alleged efforts to challenge the 2020 presidential election results in the Peach State.

Shortly after the charges were announced, Trump’s campaign team released a lengthy statement that reads in part, “Fulton County, GA’s radical Democrat DA Fani Willis is a rabid partisan who is campaigning and fundraising on a platform of prosecuting President Trump through these bogus indictments. Ripping a page from Crooked Joe Biden’s playbook, Willis has strategically stalled her investigation to try and maximally interfere with the 2024 presidential race and damage the dominant Trump campaign. All of these corrupt Democrat attempts will fail.”

“They could have brought this 2 1/2 years ago, yet they chose to do this for election interference reasons in the middle of President Trump’s successful campaign,” the statement added.

Yes, Every Kid

In another response to the charges he faces in Georgia, Trump announced Tuesday that he will present new evidence of “presidential election fraud” that allegedly took place in the Peach State, which, as he said he believes, will completely exonerate him and his allies that face charges.

On Tuesday, Trump wrote on Truth Social, “A Large, Complex, Detailed but Irrefutable REPORT on the Presidential Election Fraud which took place in Georgia is almost complete & will be presented by me at a major News Conference at 11:00 A.M. on Monday of next week in Bedminster, New Jersey. Based on the results of this CONCLUSIVE Report, all charges should be dropped against me & others – There will be a complete EXONERATION! They never went after those that Rigged the Election. They only went after those that fought to find the RIGGERS!”
