Beacon Center Poll: Tennesseans Overwhelmingly Support Donald Trump and School Choice

The Nashville-based Beacon Center of Tennessee published results on Thursday of its first-ever poll revealing how Tennessee voters feel about various issues.

The right-of-center think tank polled 1,120 registered voters in Tennessee from June 14 to June 22.

Regarding the 2024 presidential election, the think tank’s poll shows that Donald Trump has a 21-point lead (55 percent-34 percent) over Joe Biden in the Volunteer State, while Ron DeSantis leads Joe Biden by 16 points (52 percent-36 percent).

In the state’s Democratic presidential primary, Biden has 63 percent of the vote. In comparison, Robert Kennedy Jr. garners 7 percent, and Marianne Williamson is at 2 percent, with 26 percent of Democratic primary voters remaining undecided. In the state’s Republican presidential primary, Trump (61 percent) has a 49-point lead on DeSantis (12 percent), while Mike Pence is at 8 percent.

As for education, 69 percent of respondents approve of the state’s expansion of Education Savings Accounts statewide; 64 percent would like to see charter schools expanded to all counties; and 77 percent agree that more public and private K-12 education options are needed in the state.

The poll also asked respondents about current cultural issues, including the recent controversy surrounding companies like Bud Light and TikTok.

Yes, Every Kid

When asked about a hypothetical ban on TikTok from operating on devices in the U.S., 56 percent agreed. When it came to the controversy surrounding Bud Light, 22 percent of respondents who have consumed the beer in the past have stopped drinking it after the brand’s recent marketing campaign with transgender influence Dylan Mulvaney.

“With a lack of consistent and reliable polls in the state, we are happy to offer a transparent and unbiased look at what Tennesseans really think. While Beacon obviously holds certain policy positions, this poll is all about finding where Tennesseans really are and what issues they care most about by offering the public full transparency in terms of results, questions, and demographic info,” Beacon spokesman Mark Cunningham said in a statement.

The think tank said it will conduct its poll and publish the results once every quarter to “track how voters feel” about the direction of the state and nation.

The think tank’s full 59-page poll results can be viewed here.

  1. CCW

I don’t understand this comment. Trump put Marsha in office. Haggerty probably makes a better ambassador to Japan.

The current efforts in the primary run-ups is 1. make as much money for the press covering the pseudo-campaigns as can be made, 2. fracture the big party primary votes by running umpteen candidates. 3. this makes way for bringing in, and making effective, the votes-for-$$$ and mail-in, mail-out ballot votes.

I think this may be the last election of this “unkeepable” republic. People who are attracted to the “shiny bauble” latest candidates should consider this.

  2. Joe Blow

This reflects the Tennessee that I identify with.

  3. Disgruntled Voter

Too bad our 2 US Senators voted to certify the Commie now residing in the W H.
    They lost this vote
