Philadelphia’s New Tourism Ad Draws Parallels Between Drag Queen Story Time and America’s Founding

Two drag queens read books to young children in front of Independence Hall in a new tourism ad for the City of Philadelphia released Friday.

Visit Philadelphia linked LGBT activism to the American founding in its press release for the ad and highlighted the city’s reputation as LGBT friendly. Drag queens Brittany Lynn and Morgan Wells read a book titled “Giraffes Can’t Dance” to about a dozen children and several parents in front of Independence Hall, the building in which the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were signed.

‘MAGA’ Republicans Seek to ‘Destroy the United States of America,’ Senior Biden Adviser Claims

A senior adviser to President Joe Biden claimed “MAGA” Republicans pose a “danger to our democracy” and seek to “destroy the United States of America” during a Sunday morning appearance on MSNBC.

“It is important that as we look at this MAGA Republican agenda and those who seek to lead our country like Kevin McCarthy, who will lead our country if Republicans take the House in November, it is important that we pay attention to what they, what the agenda will be,” former Democratic Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms of Atlanta, now a senior adviser to President Biden, told host Jonathan Capehart. “This MAGA Republican agenda is a very dangerous agenda.”

‘Full Monty Mussolini’: Biden’s Primetime Speech Mocked, Slammed on Social Media

President Joe Biden’s Thursday evening speech targeting supporters of former President Donald Trump was mocked on social media, with many users poking fun at the stage.

The speech, held in Philadelphia, marked continued attacks on supporters of Trump, reiterating earlier attacks in which he claimed Republicans embraced “semi-fascism” at an Aug. 25 fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee in Maryland, and also attacked “MAGA Republicans” during a Tuesday speech in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Biden called “MAGA Republicans” a threat to democracy and doubled down on his rhetoric calling supporters of former President Donald trump “extremists.”
