Davidson County Republican Party Announces New Leadership

The Davidson County Republican Party recently announced new leadership to its executive committee.

The newly-elected committee members include:

  • Laura Nelson, first vice chair
  • Dia Hart, second vice chair
  • John Wendt, recording secretary
  • Chuck Grimes, communications and corresponding secretary
  • Shannon McGuffin, treasurer
  • Johnny Ellis, vice treasurer

In addition to the countywide-elected officers, Nashville’s Republicans elected regional vice-chairs who serve as voting members of the board who each represent an area equivalent to five Metro Council Districts. Those elected include:

  • Dan Meredith – east region
  • Annalisa Young – north region
  • David Ackerman – south region
  • Jackie Colbeth – south central region
  • Kathy Walker – west region

The Davidson County GOP Executive Committee is responsible for setting the direction of the Republican Party within Nashville and Davidson County.

The new executive committee members of the Davidson County GOP were elected to serve at the organization’s biennial reorganization convention on February 11th, which also saw Lonnie Spivak elected chairman of the Davidson County GOP, as previously reported by The Tennessee Star.

“There is a new energy in Nashville,” Spivak said following the leadership reorganization within the GOP organization. “The new board and I will work tirelessly to uphold the values of the Republican Party and promote the principles of limited government, individual freedom, and fiscal responsibility.”

“In the coming weeks and months, we will reach out to all of those of Davidson County who have not yet found the Republican Party, listen to their concerns, and strive to find solutions that benefit our community in a way that expands our numbers and promotes our values,” Spivak added.

The Davidson County GOP is “committed to advancing limited government, lower taxes, less spending and individual liberty.”

On its website, the organization states that its specific goals are to “grow the Republican Party by reaching new voters, advance the platform (which is grounded in conservative principles), and to keep Tennessee prosperous and free.”

Why is Laura Nelson, our 1st Vice Chair, running for a position in the State House, Dist 52, but she is too lazy to complete the brief position survey for iVoter???
Not too impressed with candidates who are too inept to clearly state their position on topics of interest to the voters .. something’s very wrong about that!
