‘She’s a Liar’: Former DOJ Official Jeff Clark Reacts to Not Finding a Single Case Prosecuted by Kamala Harris

Jeff Clark, former acting assistant attorney general during the Trump administration, said Vice President Kamala Harris appears to be a “liar” and is “misrepresenting her record” as a comprehensive search into her background as a prosecutor has failed to produce evidence that she ever led the prosecution of a single case at the local or state level.

During his investigation into whether or not Harris ‘first-chaired’ a trial at any point in her career as the District Attorney of San Francisco, Attorney General of California, and as a Deputy District Attorney in Alameda County, Clark was unable to find any evidence that Harris had ever argued an appeal.

Clark is now calling on the Harris campaign to release a single transcript of any case the vice president has allegedly argued.

The review of Harris’ record comes as she frequently refers to her prosecutorial experience as being one of her strong qualifications to be president.

Clark said his investigation into Harris began as he was simply “suspicious” of the vice president’s “overblown” record as a prosecutor.

“I had the same suspicions that these claims were overblown and I just initially thought, ‘Hey, let me see a transcript of her arguing and her questioning witnesses and her making objections about the admission of evidence so that I can assess her claim quality as a lawyer.’ I thought it wouldn’t be that hard to find a trial transcript of a trial that she had conducted, but it turned out to be quite a futile search,” Clark explained on Friday’s edition of The Michael Patrick Leahy Show.

“I can’t seem to find a single one despite looking as hard as I can,” Clark added. “At this point, there is not a single public transcript of her arguing a case, of her taking witnesses, of her having an interchange with the judge, and it’s just like the complete null set. That’s both in appellate courts in California or federal courts, even in habeas matters or in trial courts.”

Clark said the lack of evidence points to the possibility that Harris was a second or third chair prosecutor.

“It’s possible that she was a second chair or maybe a third chair. Who knows? Until we see the transcripts, we don’t really know,” Clark added.

Clark went on to say that the lack of evidence to prove Harris’ record as a “tough” prosecutor shows that the vice president is a “liar” who “misrepresents” her own record.

“It matters first and foremost because she’s a liar. She misrepresents her record. She also had the Democratic Party and her campaign staff frame a good bit of the election as ‘I’m the tough prosecutor, I’m an excellent trial lawyer and going up for the presidency, the highest office in the land against Donald Trump, and he is the target of prosecutors like me and I know his type.’ All of this is overblown nonsense,” Clark explained.

“She is essentially a lifelong politician. Her actually ever doing anything in real life to achieve things for people like working in a business or working as an actual prosecutor, that record is incredibly thin and there’s no way that record should have been parlayable into high elected office,” Clark added.

From what I read of the linked article, it implies “her office” prosecuted or “argued” cases. If she was actually first chair, either in the trial court or on appeal, and argued the brief at the appellate level, there should be a record of such appearance. While some District Attorneys delegate and their First Assistant or Deputy Assistant actually try the cases, if Kamala worked her way up as deputy then county, then state attorney general, there should be some record of her actually trying a case, at least at the deputy level. If there isn’t, then it is suspicious given how she highlights her prosecutorial past. It may be she is, as is often the case, taking credit as boss for that which her assistant district attorneys actually did – which was to try the actual cases before judges.

After watching Kamala’s non-stop stream of lies during the debate, is anyone really surprised to discover that she’s also been lying about her legal “accomplishments” ?
