Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff issued several statements supporting total eradication of the death penalty. Ossoff’s stance aligned with petitions to save violent murderers from execution.

“Abolish the death penalty,” Ossoff tweeted twice.

The candidate’s tweets occurred as part of the ongoing social media trend inspired by scheduled federal executions taking place. Users petitioned that the prisoners should be reprieved of their death sentence. Social media users and celebrities claimed that man executed Thursday, Brandon Bernard, was given an unfair sentence.

Four left-wing Hollywood comedians, including Sarah Silverman and Patton Oswalt, are scheduled to host a virtual fundraiser for U.S. Senate candidate Jon Ossoff. This, according to The Hill, which reported that Silverman, Oswalt, Dulce Sloan, and Sarah Cooper will host this “Riffing for the Georgia Runoffs” event on December 18.

Georgia Republicans File Second Ethics Complaint Against Jon Ossoff

U.S. Senate candidate Jon Ossoff, a Democrat, allegedly did not disclose he was compensated by an organization that members of the Georgia Republican Party said has links to the Chinese Communist Party. The Georgia GOP alleged this in an ethics complaint that it filed Thursday with the Senate Select Committee on Ethics. Georgia Republicans identified the organization as PCCW Media Limited.

Following Vice President Mike Pence’s Defend the Majority rally Friday in Savannah, the Georgia Republican Party released a video highlighting his unwavering support for U.S. Sens. David Perdue (R-GA) and Senator Kelly Loeffler (R-GA).

President Donald Trump said he will campaign in Georgia on December 5 for incumbent Republican U.S. Sens. David Perdue (R-GA) and Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) in the runoff election.

On Friday, in response to a Newsmax story saying many conservatives plan to boycott the election, Trump tweeted, “No, the 2020 Election was a total scam, we won by a lot (and will hopefully turn over the fraudulent result), but we must get out and help David and Kelly, two GREAT people. Otherwise we are playing right into the hands of some very sick people. I will be in Georgia on Saturday!”

Former Georgia House Minority Leader and failed Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams shared that she would auction a copy of her first romance novel to back Democratic candidates Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff. For just under a decade, Abrams wrote erotic romance novels under the pen name “Selena Montgomery.”

Abrams tweeted about her contribution to the runoff election on Wednesday. The funds raised from Abrams’ book will go to Romancing the Runoff, an initiative to raise money to back Warnock, Ossoff, and Democratic voting rights organizations.

Top Players in Defund the Police Movement Back Warnock and Ossoff

Top players leading the movement to defund the police have declared their support for Democratic Senate candidates Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff. The two candidates’ backers include Black Lives Matter, Working Families Party, Mijente, and Black to the Future.

These groups supporting Warnock and Ossoff claim that systemic racism exists, and that police are a major component of it. They advocate for limiting police interaction and diverting funding from police into other programs, such as mental health assistance.

Leftists Giddy That Georgia U.S. Senate Race Might Deliver ‘The Green New Deal’

Members of a left-leaning environmental group have announced that Georgia’s two U.S. Senate races are the key to them and their political allies in Washington, D.C. enacting the Green New Deal into law.

Members of this group, the Sunrise Movement, announced their intentions late last week.

According to an emailed Sunrise Movement newsletter, members think they can use the Georgia U.S. Senate elections “to transform this country.” The newsletter did not identify which of the four primary U.S. Senate candidates would help them achieve their goals. The Green New Deal, however, is a Democratic Party initiative.

Mike Pence to Georgia: We Will Count Every Legal Ballot, And Throw Out Every Illegal Ballot

Vice President Mike Pence told thousands of supporters in Canton Friday that they must pray for America and that they also must vote for U.S. Sen. David Perdue (R-GA) and U.S. Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) in January of next year.

To motivate the crowd, Pence said the GOP’s agenda for America “is one of greatness” while Democrats’ agenda “is American decline.”

In the race between Loeffler and Warnock this past week, the incumbent unleashed ads and a website criticizing Warnock’s policies and past. Loeffler accused Warnock to communist agendas and “anti-American” views, such as anti-gun sentiments.

Democrats Say Facebook, Google Political Ad Bans Will Suppress Voter Turnout During Senate Double Runoff Election in Georgia

Facebook and Google are banning political ads from their platforms with no exceptions allowed, at a time when two U.S. Senate seats are up for grabs in a Jan. 5 runoff election in Georgia that could help determine control of that chamber, NBC News reported.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee criticized the decisions, which they said, “amount to unacceptable voter suppression.”

Housekeeping and Updates on Georgia’s General Election Runoff

Georgian voters have another opportunity to register to vote in time for the upcoming federal general election runoff on January 5. The ballot includes both U.S. Senate seats for Georgia: Republican incumbents Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue facing Democratic challengers Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff.

The deadline to register for the senatorial election runoff is December 7, and in-person voting will begin on December 14. Officials will begin mailing absentee ballots by November 18.

Ongoing vote tallies in Georgia suggest the fate of the U.S. Senate race between Sen. David Perdue and Jon Ossoff, and, perhaps, control of the U.S. Senate, will be decided by a runoff election in January.

As of Friday morning, incumbent Republican Perdue leads Ossoff, a Democrat, by 98,410 votes, with a 49.84% to 47.84% advantage – below the more than 50% of the vote Perdue needs to avoid a runoff against Ossoff on Jan. 5.

Final Georgia Senate Debate Canceled After Perdue Drops Out

A final debate between Republican Sen. David Perdue of Georgia and Democratic challenger Jon Ossoff has been canceled after Perdue dropped out, saying he would attend a campaign rally with President Donald Trump instead.

The cancellation was announced Thursday night, a day after Perdue and Ossoff met for a bitter second debate in Savannah in which Ossoff slammed Perdue as a “crook” who downplayed the coronavirus pandemic. Perdue, who is seeking a second term, denied the accusation.

  Rebecca Ann Burke goes where she’s needed to help get Republicans elected. After looking at polls showing Republican Karen Handel might lose to Democrat Jon Ossoff in the race for the 6th district congressional seat in Georgia, Burke packed her bags and headed for the Peach State to volunteer. Having worked on the Trump campaign, Burke knew polls can’t always be trusted. But she didn’t want to take any chances. For nearly two weeks, the Franklin woman worked the phones, went door to door, put out signs and attended rallies. She was still in Georgia Tuesday night when Handel, a businesswoman and lifelong conservative, was declared the winner of the hard-fought race. “We just had a ball,” Burke told The Tennessee Star Wednesday morning. “My throat is sore from screaming last night.” Handel’s victory in the special election was a huge setback for Democrats, who spent more than $30 million to back Ossoff, a documentary filmmaker and former Capitol Hill aide. It was their fourth consecutive loss in special elections, the other three being in Kansas, Montana and South Carolina.
