Murfreesboro Aviation Offering Free Discovery Flights to Veterans of All Branches

Murfreesboro Aviation, Tennessee’s largest aviation school, will offer free Discovery Flights on Veterans Day, all day, for veterans of all branches, according to a press release the company recently put out.

Murfreesboro Aviation owner Corporal James “Jim” Gardner, an honorably discharged disabled Desert Shield/Desert Storm Veteran of the U.S. Army, will bring the veteran community together for this special day to honor them. Gardner is an experienced pilot and will offer flights in his personal aircraft as well.

“I’m honored to be a veteran and we would like to honor all branches, who have also served.  This is a small gesture to make a happy and exciting memory for my fellow veterans,” the press release quoted Gardner as saying.

Monday is Veterans Day.

“Because Veterans Day honors veterans still living, be sure to thank a veteran today.  Saying ‘thank you for your service to our country’ is the very least that we can do for those who have done so much,” according to the press release.

“The families of service members also pay the price for their loved one’s service.”

The press release then quoted the song “They Also Serve” in which John Conlee sings the following:

They also serve those who stand and wait.

Praying by the phone to learn their loved one’s fate.

But they’re still in the war, let there be no mistake.

They also serve, those who stand and wait.

If you, or someone you know is a veteran and would enjoy the opportunity to participate in this free flying experience then give Murfreesboro Aviation a call and schedule a flight while space is available.

Murfreesboro Aviation will fly from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. that day.

Let the person on the other end of the phone know you are a veteran and would like to fly that day.

The number is (615) 494-1900.

Murfreesboro Aviation is located at 1936 Memorial Boulevard, 37129.
