Black Lives Matter Rioter and Nashville Courthouse Arsonist Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

Wesley Somers, a Black Lives Matter rioter who pled guilty in connection to the Nashville Courthouse riot that occurred in May 2020, was sentenced to five years in prison today.

Somers’ original sentencing date, December 1, 2021, had been moved to January 18, 2022, then to February 22, then to March 8, and finally occurred on March 23.

Nashville Courthouse Arsonist’s Sentencing Postponed for Fourth Time

Wesley Somers, who pled guilty in connection to the Nashville Courthouse riot that occurred in May 2020, had his sentencing hearing postponed for the fourth time because a continuance was requested.

According to the clerk’s office of the Middle District of Tennessee Court, Somers is now scheduled to be sentenced on March 23, 2022 at 10am by Judge Aleta Trauger. Trauger was the judge who granted the motion to continue and reset the date.

Nashville Courthouse Arsonist Sentencing Delayed as the Defense Prepares New Witness to Testify ‘Concerning a Psychological Evaluation’

Wesley Somers of Hendersonville, was supposed to be sentenced Tuesday in federal court for his role in the Nashville courthouse fire but the sentencing was delayed for a second time, to February 22, 2022.

It was previously reported that Somers’ original sentencing date was December 1st, 2021, and had been moved to January 18th, 2022. The reasons for the second postponement to February 22, 2022 are now clear.

Nashville Courthouse Fire Suspect’s Sentencing Delayed for the Second Time

Wesley Somers, aged 26, of Hendersonville was supposed to be sentenced today in federal court for his role in the Nashville courthouse fire but the sentencing has been delayed for a second time.

Somers was originally supposed to be sentenced on December 1st, 2021 and it had been postponed to January 18th, 2022. The Clerk’s Office of the Middle District of Tennessee told The Tennessee Star that Mr. Somers’ counsel made a motion to postpone, yet again. The new sentencing hearing is scheduled for February 22nd at 1pm.
