New Balance Announces New Distribution Center Coming to Lebanon

New Balance Athletics and the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development announced on Tuesday that it will be investing $68.5 million to establish a new distribution center in Lebanon.

New Balance Chief Operating Officer Dave Wheeler said, “We are excited to open our new distribution center in Lebanon, Tennessee, that will drive increased agility, capacity, and collaboration across our North American distribution network. This new state-of-the-art facility will ensure we can continue to provide world-class customer service and achieve our strategic growth goals. We greatly appreciate the tremendous support we’ve received at the local and state level and look forward to joining the Wilson County business community.”

The New Balance center will be located at a facility in the Speedway Industrial Park, occupying approximately 350,000 square feet. The center will employ over 150 people in Wilson County and said it expects to open in late summer 2023. Along with servicing the wholesale and retail operations for apparel, the space will also be responsible for supporting a part of New Balance’s digital commerce business for footwear, clothing, and accessories.

“Tennessee is known for the companies that call our state home, so we are proud to add another globally known brand to our roster. I appreciate New Balance for its decision to invest $68.5 million and create over 150 new jobs in Lebanon. This is a big win for Wilson County and reaffirms that Tennessee’s pro-business climate, strong workforce, and quality of life continue to attract the world’s leading businesses,” said Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Stuart McWhorter.

The announcement from the sports shoe maker comes on the heels of several companies placing their distribution centers in Williamson County. Walmart announced that it would be opening a fulfillment center in Lebanon, which will employ 300 people and is expected to be open late this year. REI also announced at the beginning of this year that its distribution center will be opening in Lebanon in 2023 and will employ over 280 people.

New Balance is headquartered in Boston, and is a sports footwear and apparel manufacturer. New Balance employs over 4,000 people as a corporation and, in 2013, made $2.73 billion in sales.
