Gun-Toting Driver Plows into New Orleans Crowd, Killing at Least 10

New Orleans residents post images from the NOLA New Year's Eve truck attack

A gun-toting driver plowed his pickup truck into a crowd of New Year’s Eve revelers in New Orleans’ famed French Quarter and opened fire on officers, killing 10 and injuring at least 35.

Authorities said they also found explosive devices on the truck in what they called an “intentional act.” But the city’s mayor and the FBI differed on whether the event was a terrorist attack.

Visit Music City Announces COVID Regulations for New Years Eve Celebrations

Visit Music City announced its New Year’s Eve celebration, along with its COVID regulations. The event will be sponsored by Jack Daniels and broadcast live on CBS Television Network, and available to stream on-demand on Paramount+.

The New Year’s Eve event is called the Jack Daniel’s New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash! is one of the many events offered in Nashville for the holiday, and is free to anyone to attend. A special New Years’ Eve package is also available, with tickets priced at $50 along with a required one-night stay at a participating hotel.

Nashville Scene Apologizes for Promoting New Years Event with No COVID Restrictions

A weekly Nashville magazine apologized to readers Monday after promoting a Fox News sponsored New Years Eve event that will not require guests to wear masks, present a negative COVID-19 test or show proof of vaccination to partake. 

“Due to a communication breakdown, a Nashville Scene marketing email went out this morning promoting a Fox News-sponsored event at Wildhorse Saloon requiring no proof of vaccination or negative COVID test. We regret this error and apologize to our readers. It won’t happen again,” Nashville Scene said on Twitter.
