Tennessee U.S. Rep. Tim Burchett Asks House Oversight Committee Chairman to Subpoena Jeffrey Epstein’s Flight Logs

U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (R-TN-02) sent a letter to James Comer (R-KY-01), the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, requesting he subpoena the flight logs associated with the late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein’s private plane.

“As you are aware, there have long been unanswered questions surrounding the sex trafficking ring spearheaded by the late Jeffrey Epstein,” Burchett wrote. “We know that Epstein and his associates engaged in child sex trafficking and catered to the rich and powerful elite from around the globe. Many of Epstein’s clients are alleged to be some of America’s most powerful and well-known people.”

“Recently, Senate Democrats blocked an effort by my colleague, Senator Marsha Blackburn, to subpoena the flight logs associated with Epstein’s private plane. The American people have a right to know who took part in Epstein’s disgusting business that ruined so many lives. More importantly, their victims deserve justice and accountability,” Burchett added.

The Tennessee congressman called on the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability to “provide the accountability Senate Democrats refuse to pursue.”

“To that end, I respectfully request that you subpoena flight logs of Jeffrey Epstein’s private plane, as well as any other documents you deem appropriate and necessary to determine who are among the scumbags Epstein counted as clients and highlight any who are or previously were government officials,” Burchett said.

Burchett’s letter comes more than one month after Tennessee U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) filed a subpoena to Epstein’s estate to provide the flight logs for his private plane.

Yes, Every Kid

“Given the numerous allegations of human trafficking and abuse surrounding Mr. Epstein, we’ve got to identify everyone who could have participated in his horrific conduct,” Blackburn said during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on November 9, which led the Committee chairman Dick Durbin (D-IL) to “abruptly adjourn the meeting without calling up any subpoenas.”

Durbin also blocked Blackburn from bringing forward her request for subpoenas, including for Epstein’s flight logs, during a committee hearing on November 30.

Last week, as previously reported by The Tennessee Star, Blackburn had the opportunity to question the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Christopher Wray, about what she said she believes is a lack of thorough investigation into an alleged high-profile sex trafficking ring run by Epstein.

Under questioning by Blackburn, Wray refused to commit to releasing Epstein’s flight logs but said he would get with his team to see if there was any more information he could provide.
