Tennessee pro-life protester Bevelyn Beatty-Williams reported to the Federal Correctional Facility (FCI) in Aliceville, Alabama on Wednesday after she was sentenced to more than three years in prison for her role in a 2020 abortion protest in New York.

Williams was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison after she and other pro-life activists were accused of blocking the entry to a Planned Parenthood location in Manhattan, in violation of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act of 1994, following a federal jury trial in New York prosecuted under the Biden-Harris Department of Justice.

Three More Pro-Life Activists Sentenced for Blocking Access to Abortion Clinic

Three pro-life activists were sentenced this week for their involvement in a 2021 abortion clinic blockade.

Authorities indicted a group of pro-life activists in October 2022 for their involvement in blocking the entrance of Carafem Health Center Clinic in 2021, which prevented an employee and a patient from accessing the facility. The court imposed a 16-month prison sentence on Chester Gallagher Thursday for orchestrating the blockade in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, while Eva Edl received a three-year probation, according to The Associated Press.

President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) hit five pro-life activists with a new lawsuit Thursday for allegedly blocking access to an abortion clinic.

Three activists named in the lawsuit — Calvin Zastrow, Eva Zastrow and Chester Gallagher — were previously convicted this year on Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act charges in Tennessee. The lawsuit alleges they, along with defendants Kenneth Scott and Katelyn Sims, “trespassed onto a reproductive health center’s property, blocked the entrances and temporarily stopped operations at the center,” according to the DOJ.

The Department of Justice reportedly advised the Washington, D.C. Medical Examiner to discard the remains of aborted preemie-sized babies, according to an attorney with the Thomas More Society.

Those baby remains are from an abortion clinic in Foggy Bottom, a neighborhood of D.C. Pro-life activists believe the baby bodies are evidence that a D.C. abortionist was performing illegal abortions, but for two years now, D.C. authorities have stonewalled any questions about the babies’ deaths.

Pro-Life Activists Face 11 Years in Prison After Jury Hands Down Guilty Verdict

Six pro-life activists were found guilty of blocking access to an abortion clinic on Tuesday and could face a sentence of up to 11 years in prison, according to a press release from the Thomas More Society.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) charged 11 pro-life activists in October 2022 with violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, which “prohibits threats of force, obstruction and property damage intended to interfere with reproductive health care services,” for blocking the entrance of an abortion clinic in March 2021. A jury ruled that the six defendants were guilty after a six-day trial at the Fred D. Thompson U.S. Courthouse in Nashville, Tennessee, according to the press release.

Former President Donald Trump has gained traction with several pro-life groups in his bid for the GOP nomination despite the movement’s heavy criticism of him over the last several months for changing his position on abortion, according to The Washington Post.

Trump has said in the past that he would not support a 15-week federal abortion ban and in September he claimed that he did not “frankly care” whether there was a federal or state ban on abortion, according to Axios. Pro-life groups such as Susan B. Anthony (SBA) Pro-Life America and Students for Life (SFL) had called out Trump for failing to support the pro-life movement but recently stated that while he is not the most ideal candidate, the former president has gotten the job done in the past, according to the Post.

Minneapolis Bans Pro-Life Activists from Sections of Public Sidewalks

The Minneapolis City Council adopted an ordinance Thursday that will prohibit pro-life sidewalk counselors from being on sections of public sidewalks.

“We believe this proposal is unconstitutional and want to express our opposition as we prepare to challenge it should it go into effect,” said an email from Thomas Wilkin, Pro-Life Action Ministries’ sidewalk counseling manager.
