The Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation announced Tuesday it raised $113,820,000 for education in the Volunteer State during the third quarter of Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24), which spanned from January 1 through March 31.

“The Lottery is proud to announce this quarter’s results, which reinforce our commitment to funding vital education programs for Tennesseans,” Tennessee Education Lottery President and CEO Rebecca Paul said in a statement.

Largest U.S. Bank Notches Massive Profits Following Government-Assisted Acquisition

The biggest bank in America announced huge profits Friday after previously striking a deal with federal regulators to buy the failed First Republic Bank.

JPMorgan Chase reported $14.5 billion in net income for the second quarter of 2023, which is up 67% compared to the previous quarter and 40% excluding First Republic, according to JPMorgan’s earnings release. First Republic failed in May after a bank run, requiring federal regulators to seize the bank and have other large banks bid on its sale, leading JPMorgan to acquire the bank and maintain funds for depositors.

Georgia Lottery Amasses $367.2 Million in Profits for Last Quarter

The Georgia Lottery brought in more than $367.2 million in profits during the third quarter of fiscal 2022, state officials said.

For the first three quarters of fiscal 2022, between July 1, 2021, and March 31, the lottery transferred more than $1.1 billion to the state’s Lottery for Education Account. Since its inception, the lottery has transferred more than $24.6 billion to the state.
