Young Conservatives of Texas at the University of Texas (YCTUT) held a rally to support Kavanaugh. Some of the signs YCTUT members held included “Confirm Kavanaugh,” “Kavanaugh for Justice” and “Witch Hunt!” according to a picture the group provided to The Daily Caller News Foundation. This is assault,” Sharma said to the girl in the video. “Fuck you to every girl that has been sexually assaulted on this campus,” the girl said to Sharma. Sharma told TheDCNF that YTCUT officer Joshua Lambert had his Make America Great Again hat snatched, but a person in the crowd later returned it. Lisa Dreher, a reporter with the school’s paper, The Texan Daily, told TheDCNF that she saw a red hat flying and counter-protesters cheering. UTPD said student in pink…

Portland Food Cart That Helps The Homeless Shut Down After Alleged Harassment From Occupy ICE Protesters

Portland food truck

by Neetu Chandak   A Portland non-profit food cart was shut down after the owners faced alleged harassment from Occupy ICE protesters Friday. The Happy Camper Food Cart, founded by Scott and Julie Hakes in 2017, raised funds to help the homeless through the project Operation Off The Grid. The stand was across the street from the Portland Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) building, where protesters have held demonstrations since June. “Unfortunately over the last month, we have been threatened and verbally attacked for not backing the immigration agenda at the DHS location and wanting to stay neutral and serve all who are hungry,” said the The Happy Camper Food Cart Facebook post on July 20. It started when one of the protesters yelled at his daughter with a mega-horn because they thought the daughter was making fun of them. The daughter is overheard saying, “Do you hear them? They think I am laughing at them,” in video footage provided to KATU2 by Scott. “They’re constantly cussing at her and screaming at her,” Scott said to KATU2. “She finally had enough. She called me up on the phone, crying. I said ‘Breanna, shut the doors, we’re done.’” The protesters threatened to burn down the cart “at least three…

School Prayer Not OK, But Blocking Traffic Is, Socialist Protesters Say

Dozens of protesters sat in the crosswalk Monday in front of the Tennessee Capitol as part of the national Poor People’s Campaign, The Tennessean reported. The protest blocked afternoon rush hour traffic on the Victory Memorial Bridge (James Robertson Parkway), News Channel 5 reported. According to the group’s press release, Monday’s rally kicked off a six-week season of nonviolent direct action in Nashville, demanding a massive overhaul of the nation’s voting rights laws, the TV station said. There were more than 30 such protests nationwide. More than a dozen protesters were arrested Monday afternoon after they blocked a busy downtown Indianapolis street during rush hour, Denver 7 reported. The socialist Poor People’s Campaign styles itself as a way to “challenge the evils of systemic racism, poverty, the war economy, ecological devastation and the nation’s distorted morality.” The group’s website further adds, “We aim to shift the distorted moral narrative often promoted by religious extremists in the nation from issues like prayer in school, abortion, and gun rights to one that is concerned with how our society treats the poor, those on the margins, the least of these, women, LGBTQIA folks, workers, immigrants, the disabled and the sick; equality and representation under the law; and the…

Knoxville Monument Protest Ends Without Violence

The Confederate monument protest in Knoxville Saturday ended without violence, police said. The Knoxville Police Department (KPD) tweeted Saturday that the demonstration in Fort Sanders was “peaceful and successful.” The protest was held against a monument in the historic neighborhood that honors fallen Confederate soldiers from the Battle of Fort Sanders on Nov. 29, 1863. WATE reported the city had shut down a portion of 17th Street to vehicles. Earlier in the day, the KPD tweeted that guns, knives and face coverings would not be permitted. Police also reported handing out water to protestors. Petitions were posted online last week calling both for the removal and the preservation of the monument, WATE reported. The monument was vandalized and then cleaned up. WBIR reported about 300 people gathered near the monument. Most protested the structure, while a few showed support. Some chanted “not in Knoxville,” while one woman displayed a sign reading “defend our monument.” The KPD tweeted that the drivers of dozens of cars that towed from the protest area would not have to pay. The department tweeted the name and number of the city impound lot. Democratic Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero tweeted “Thank you @knoxsheriff, @TNHighwayPatrol, @OakRidgePolice, @TBInvestigation, @KnoxvilleFire, @UTPolice &…

Commentary: Pure and Simple Hate Fuels the Left’s Outrage Machine, Not Trump

Tennessee Star

by: Jeffrey A. Rendall As the political fallout from the firing of former FBI Director James Comey trickles down from the media heavens – and Republican congressmen continue to suffer paranoid beat-downs from leftist protesters during otherwise innocuous town hall meetings – one wonders, what’s the best we can expect from our political system in the era of Trump? If the past six months is any indication, not much. Ever since President Trump won the 2016 election the reactions from liberals, Democrats and the media (one and the same) have been nothing short of hysterical, and not in the humorous sense. Take for example certain celebrities’ response to Trump’s entirely justifiable termination of Comey the other night. Katie Jerkovich of the Daily Caller reports, “Celebrities like Rosie O’Donnell, John Legend and others said it was time for President Donald Trump to be removed from office after he fired FBI Director James Comey Tuesday. “Dixie Chicks singer Natalie Maines said that the president had a mental illness.” The semi-washed up Maines wasn’t the only one questioning Trump’s capacity – and patriotism — over Comey. 60s/70s hippy legend Cher tweeted, “TRUMP SAYS 1 OF THE REASONS HE FIRED FBI DIRECTOR COMEY IS BECAUSE…
