Tennessee Republicans Increase Share of Electorate as Trump Wins Popular Vote

Tennessee Republicans largely increased or held their share of the vote compared to their performance in their past election, with Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) seeing the largest increase of the vote share when contrasting her successful 2018 campaign for U.S. Senate to her successful 2024 reelection.

Blackburn in 2018 received 54.7 percent of the vote, but increased her share by nearly 9 percent in her race against State Representative Gloria Johnson, trouncing the Democrat 63.8 percent to 34.2 percent, according to estimates at press time.

U.S. Rep. Chuck Fleischmann ‘All In’ for Trump, Promises to Do ‘Everything Possible’ for 2024 Re-Election

U.S. Representative Chuck Fleischmann (R-TN-03) reportedly told the Hamilton County Pachyderm Club in Chattanooga on Monday that he is “all in” for former President Donald Trump in 2024, and pledged to support his 2024 campaign for re-election.

Fleischmann told Republicans on Monday that he is “all in for Donald Trump,” according to The Chattanoogan, which reported that the congressman told attendees he recently visited Mar-a-Lago and told the former president he will do “everything possible” to aid his re-election.

Immigrant Group Sues Tennessee Child Services for Failing to Provide Immigration Services for Illegal Alien Children

An advocacy group for illegal aliens is suing the Tennessee Department of Child Services (DCS), alleging that DCS is not doing enough to help illegal alien children in foster care gain citizenship in the United States. 

“For children in DCS custody without legal immigration status, DCS’s care must include addressing and safeguarding their immigration-related needs, which impact their health, welfare, and safety,” says a lawsuit filed by Advocates for Immigrant Rights in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. “This care entails determining whether a child is in need of immigration related services, ensuring that DCS considers immigration-related needs when helping the child plan for their future, and helping a child access needed services.”

Rep. Fleischmann Battles with Democrats over Wall Funding, Disinfo Board

A U.S. Congressman from Tennessee battled with Democrats on the Fiscal Year 2023 budget in an attempt to stop them from misdirecting funds appropriated for border wall construction, and to stop them from pursuing their “disinformation governance board.” 

“Rep. Fleischmann believes that both President Biden and [Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro] Mayorkas cannot be trusted not to try to restart any version of the disinformation board, which is why he offered an amendment to ban any funds in the Fiscal Year 2023 funding bill from establishing a disinformation board at DHS,” Justin Doil, the Communications Director for Rep. Chuck Fleischmann (R-TN-03), told The Tennessee Star.

Tennessee Lawmakers Call for Safe Return of Marine Who Attempted Suicide in Venezuelan Jail

Elected officials in Tennessee are calling for the safe return of a U.S. Marine who is jailed in Venezuela after that Marine attempted to take his own life over the weekend. 

“The safe return of Matthew Heath must be the highest priority for the White House and State Department,” said Rep. Chuck Fleischmann (R-TN-03). “Our government and the Venezuelan government must come to an agreement to medically evacuate Matthew. His life is in danger, and we cannot delay.”

Tennessee Congressman Chuck Fleischmann At Scene of Wednesday’s Shooting But Unhurt

Tennessee congressman Chuck Fleischmann was at the park early Wednesday morning in Alexandria, Virginia, where a man opened fire on a top GOP lawmaker and others who were there to play baseball. Rep. Steve Scalise, a Republican from Louisiana who is House Majority Whip, was injured in the attack. A congressional staffer and two congressional police officers were also wounded. Fleischmann was not harmed. The shooter was killed by police. Fleischmann, who represents Tennessee’s 3rd congressional district and is based out of Chattanooga, told CNN: I’m shook up. Thank God. I’m a little bit bloodied from jumping in the dugout when we were under fire, but there were several other people shot and hurt a lot worse. Just a horrible, horrible morning for us all and a sad day for America. The fear factor was horrific because by the time I got into the dugout, I saw several other members bleeding. I saw one gentleman who had been shot in the leg. There was blood all over and it was horrible, but we did not know when it was going to end.
