Keith Ellison of assaulting her when the two were in a relationship has come out in support of Juanita Broaddrick, who accused former President Bill Clinton of assault in the 1990s. Karen Monahan, an activist who claims the Democrat assaulted her during a years-long relationship, tweeted support Sunday morning after Broaddrick demanded an “immediate FBI investigation against @keithellison for his assaults.” “I am so sorry for what you went through. Keith Ellison two weeks ago, Karen Monahan told The Daily Caller News Foundation on Sunday. Monahan, a Sierra Club activist and Ellison’s ex-girlfriend, accused the Minnesota Democrat of emotionally and physically abusing her during their relationship. “I only know the [Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (MNDFL)] did an investigation that ended two weeks ago,” Monahan wrote in a private Twitter message to TheDCNF on Sunday. If that claim is accurate, it raises questions about why the DFL has withheld the results of the investigation and why Ellison — the DFL nominee for attorney general — claimed Friday that the investigation was “ongoing.” “There is an ongoing investigation, which we hope will conclude soon,” Ellison said during a debate Friday. Ellison said he did not know if the investigation would be over before the election. According to columns written several years ago in the Minnesota Daily, obtained exclusively by The Daily Caller News Foundation, Ellison was once a proponent of a blacks-only nation carved out of America and cash reparations paid from whites to blacks. Ellison also called the U.S. Constitution the “best evidence of a white racist conspiracy to subjugate other peoples.” Rep. Keith Ellison of Minnesota, now in the running to be DNC Chair, has attracted the support of Sens. Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Harry Reid. After more than 72 hours of silence, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) weighed in Tuesday evening on domestic allegations against deputy chairman and Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison. “These allegations recently came to light and we are reviewing them. All allegations of domestic abuse are disturbing and should be taken seriously,” the DNC said in a statement to NPR. The DNC’s statement didn’t go far enough, according to former DNC communications director Luis Miranda. “The party has no choice but to suspend him at a minimum until they figure out what’s going on,” Miranda told NPR. “Frankly, it would be malpractice not to. Keith Ellison of physically assaulting his mother while the two were in a relationship. Ellison physically assaulted and psychologically abused Sierra Club activist Karen Monahan while the two were in a relationship, according to Austin Aslim Monahan, who claims to be Karen’s son.
