Paula Deen’s Lumberjack Feud to Host Family-Friendly Rib Fest in Pigeon Forge

On October 1 and 2, Paula Deen’s Lumberjack Feud will host its first annual Rib Fest. It will feature fresh ribs from local vendors, games, inflatables, live music, and an authentic lumberjack competition.

During the festival, vendors will compete for the title of “Rib Fest People’s Choice Champion,” according to a press release by the city of Pigeon Forge. On both days, they will be smoking ribs onsite and serving them fresh with homemade side dishes and beverages. Guests will vote for their favorite ribs to determine the winner. For first place, $2,000 is awarded, $1,500 for second, and $1,000 for third.

On both days of the festival, there will also be a Smoky Mountain Wood Choppin’ Championship, an authentic timbersports competition, according to the press release. In these events, lumberjacks from around the country will compete in several events including: standing block chop, underhand chop, singlebuck, springboard chop, hot saw, and speed climb.

The Rib Fest is a family friendly event. There will be live music from local artists River Divide and Whiskey Business, as well as a surprise headliner. There will also be inflatables, mini-golf, face-painting, caricature drawing, and games for kids.

The festival will be held at 2530 Pkwy. in Pigeon Forge.

Those sponsoring the event include: Sugarlands Distilling Co., Top Concepts, TopJump Trampoline and Extreme Arena, Crave Golf Club, Toy Box Mini Golf, and Climbworks.

Paula Deen’s Lumberjack Feud Show and Adventure Park is a two-in-one attraction in Pigeon Forge. The 1.5 hour show is a competition between two logging families competing in 13 lumberjack events while the Adventure Park allows families to try the events firsthand. During the shows, the audience is split down the middle to root for their families and encouraged to heckle the opposing family.
