Leahy and Carmichael Discuss the Vast Donor Group Funding Far-Left Causes Across America and Right Here in Tennessee

Original all-star panelist Crom Carmichael and host Michael Patrick Leahy discuss the origins and activities of arguably the largest donor group actively funding far-Left causes throughout the U.S. and Tennessee on Monday’s edition of The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy.

TRANSCRIPT

Michael Patrick Leahy: 6:50 AM broadcasting from our studios on Music Row, Nashville, Tennessee.

Crom Carmichael in-studio.

Crom, you know, in 1630, John Winthrop – who became a Puritan leader – and this was when Massachusetts Bay Colony was just being started.

He became the first and most prominent governor of Massachusetts Bay Colony.

Yes, Every Kid

He arrived from England on a ship called the Arabella.

Twenty years ago a wealthy Leftist started a group called Arabella Advisors to try to kind of co-op this concept of America.

And Winthrop actually wrote a letter while he was about to disembark from the Arabella back in 1630 saying we’re trying to build a ‘shining city on the hill’ phrasing that has been used, of course, by Ronald Reagan.

So the Left is co-opting that.

You sent me this fascinating article. I’ve been familiar with this group for some time.

Headline: ‘Documents provide rare glimpse into how Arabella Advisors exerts centralized control over a vast Left-wing advocacy network.’

Tell us a little bit about that, Crom.

Crom Carmichael: Well, I just read the article and what I found interesting about it is that it’s a for-profit organization that then supports a bunch of what I’m gonna guess are nonprofits and political causes.

Michael Patrick Leahy: They’re all nonprofits

Crom Carmichael: And so it’s interesting to me – and they must be walking up tightrope when it comes to when it comes to political advocacy – but what what’s interesting about the article is that [it shows how] its tentacles reach out into perhaps a hundred or 200 different organizations.

Michael Patrick Leahy: If you see a group with a name that sounds Left wing catchy, odds are, it’s financially supported by Arabella Advisors.

Crom Carmichael: This particular group that they’re talking about gives you a good example of what you’re saying. Student Experience Research Network, and that the article goes on to say – and hundreds of other Left-wing activist groups are controlled from the top down, not as Biden would say, not from the middle out and the bottom up.

Michael Patrick Leahy: It’s a for-profit consultancy, but they’re fueled by donations from billionaires like George Soros, a guy you’ve probably not heard of, but who founded eBay, Pierre Omidyar is one of them.

But the company distributes billions of dollars to Democrat pet projects. It has five tax exempt nonprofit groups that pay Arabella a healthy fee, in turn, to operate this vast array of Left wing advocacy groups.

And I mean, I’ve researched this thing and you talk about tentacles.

They’re all over the place.

You saw when it was announced what’s the guy out of Jackson, Tennessee. Who got a hundred million bucks from the Amazon guy, Jeff Bezos. Van Jones.

Crom Carmichael: Van. Okay.

Michael Patrick Leahy: This is all part of this group. These guys are all coordinated.

Crom Carmichael: Did he get it from Bezos?

Michael Patrick Leahy: He got it from Bezos? Yeah. But they’re all integrated into–

Crom Carmichael: I thought the Koch Brothers gave Van Jones a lot of money.

Michael Patrick Leahy: No. They may have, they’re kind of turning.

Okay. The Koch Brothers, well, are turning.

But the point is on this, this is a reality.

That conservative news outlets like us deal with all the time.

On the Left, if you have a news outlet on the Left; if you have an advocacy group – They’re, they’re flowing with money. They have all sorts of money.

It’s the billionaires who hate America and wanna bring it down that are funding these various groups.

Crom Carmichael: Actually, Michael, it could be the billionaires who have a lot of cash and are trying to reduce the value of things so that they can buy things cheaply, could be as well.

So, I mean, it could be that they may not wanna–

Michael Patrick Leahy: Could be that hating America may not be their primary objective.

Crom Carmichael: It may be that they get a bonus of getting to see people hurt – and they may enjoy that.

I mean, there are a lot of people who like to see other people hurt and, this could be that.

‘If I can wreck the economy badly enough, I can buy up a lot of assets with my cash and hurt a lot of people, and I get joy from both.’

Michael Patrick Leahy: I’ll give you an example of how these groups work.

There are innumerable Left-wing groups with various names that are planning and organizing to protest and disrupt the special session of the Tennessee General Assembly scheduled on August 21st, in which Governor Bill Lee – ill advisedly – is gonna attempt to jam down a red flag law in violation of the Second Amendment.

Now, he says not, but that’s what he wants to do.

And they’ve all got this alphabet soup kind of names but they are, they’re funded by this various, this vast Left-wing network.

And there is, it’s a huge network.

I mean, I’ve done various reports on election integrity, for instance. And you can see that all these groups that spring up, they all get their money. From these Left-wing billionaires and they’re coming for Tennessee, and they’re coming in the August 21st special session.

Crom Carmichael: Well, it would be interesting to see, with all of the exposure that these folks have gotten now about the violence that they are saying will be part of their plan. It’ll be now interesting to see what they actually do and what the funders do.

Because you know, based on the January 6th precedent, if you fund these groups you can be held culpable,

Michael Patrick Leahy: But Crom.

Crom Carmichael: Yeah. Not, not by this administration. Not by this administration. Yeah. There you go. But yeah, but they, but they, they’re, they’re exposing themselves because the next administration might not treat them the same way this administration does, cuz that’s the way we are.

That’s the world we live in, now.

Michael Patrick Leahy: Yeah. The Banana Republic. version of the United States of America, which the Democrats have created.

And Arabella Networks has supported.

All right, Crom, when we come back, we’ll be joined by Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti, big victory in court.

He’ll talk about it at 7:05 AM.

Back after this.
