Live from Virginia Friday morning on The John Fredericks Show – weekdays on WNTW AM 820/ FM 92.7 – Richmond, WJFN FM 100.5 – Central Virginia, WMPH AM 1010 / FM 100.1 / FM 96.9 (7-9 PM) Hampton Roads, WBRG AM 1050 / FM 105.1 – Lynchburg/Roanoke and Weekdays 6-10 am and 24/7 Stream – host Fredericks was dumbfounded by the recent letter written to the Governor of Virginia by Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney which revealed his top priority was marijuana legalization in the wake of Richmond’s violence.
TRANSCRIPT:
FREDERICKS: Big time Levar Stoney. He’s very upset, the mayor there. He’s very upset about these looters.
In fact he wrote a scathing letter to the governor. He did. That special session coming up. Scathing! He said has a top priority that he absolutely, absolutely, demands is done in this special session. It’s the top of his list. It’s his top priority. I couldn’t wait to hear what it was. I’m figuring Levar Stoney mayor of Richmond.
I know he’s a disastrous mayor.
I know he ran as the education mayor when the dropout rate in Richmond was 20 percent. Four years later its 30 percent. So he’s like the anti-education mayor. But I figured you know he’s got to have something up his sleeve. So he has the demand letter to both caucus of the Corn and to the governor. And I’m figuring well he’s going to demand that the capitol police protect this city.
He’s going to demand that the governor call in the National Guard to protect Richmonders. He’s going to demand that we get the state police in so that people aren’t burnt out of their homes and destruction is not run. And people on Monument Avenue are trying to move out. I figured that would be his letter.
No! Levar Stoney says to the governor I demand my number one priority in this General Assembly special session is we have to legalize pot!
Forget the cops. Forget if your store is getting burned down to the ground. No! We want to smoke dobbies! I got to get dobbies! If we have doobies and pipes in Richmond and we can all get high this is all going to go away. So he’s demanding top priority, get high.
