Legal Expert Phill Kline: ‘Deeply Concerning’ DOJ Publicly Released Letter Written by Second Would-Be Trump Assassin

Phill Kline, former Kansas Attorney General and current law professor at Liberty University School of Law, described the U.S. Department of Justice’s (DOJ) release of a hand-written letter by Ryan Routh, the man accused of attempting to assassinate former President Trump on September 15, as “deeply concerning.”

In the letter, which the DOJ publicly released on Monday, Routh confirmed his intent to assassinate the former president and offered a $150,000 bounty to whoever could “complete the job.”

Trump Assassination Attempt Was ‘Preventable,’ Senate Committee Report Finds

The Senate Homeland Security Committee unveiled a report Wednesday detailing the “preventable” Secret Service security failures that resulted in the assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump on July 13.

Leading up to the assassination attempt, there was no clear chain of command and major communication discrepancies which were “foreseeable, preventable, and directly related to” to the events that transpired, according to the report. As a result, Trump was nearly assassinated in July by 20-year-old gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks during a rally in Butler County, Pennsylvania, prompting an onslaught of criticism and bipartisan calls to action.

Son of Would-Be Trump Assassin Arrested for Child Pornography Possession

The son of the man arrested in connection with the second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump has been charged with receipt and possession of child pornography.

Investigators said they discovered the pornography files on Samsung Galaxy Note devices when searching Oran Routh’s residence in Guilford County, North Carolina, as part their investigation into his father, Ryan Routh.

A note purportedly written by Ryan Wesley Routh, who is accused of attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump on September 15, was released on Monday by the Department of Justice (DOJ) in a public court filing.

According to the court filing, Routh asked an associate to keep a box of his belongings. After the attack, the associate opened the box and discovered the letter, wherein prosecutors claim Routh confirmed his intent to assassinate Trump and offered a $150,000 bounty should someone prove successful.
