Tennessee Senator Joins Colleagues in Urging Senate Leader Schumer to Reject President Biden’s Funding Request for Gaza

U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) joined a group of colleagues Tuesday in urging Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to oppose President Joe Biden’s funding request for humanitarian efforts in Gaza.

Biden, in his $105 billion funding proposal for Ukraine and Israel, requested approximately $9 billion of the funds be dedicated towards “life-saving humanitarian assistance in Gaza and support for Palestinian refugees in the West Bank and surrounding areas.”

“We are writing to demand that, during Israel’s existential war against Iran’s terrorist proxies, you reject the billions of dollars in humanitarian assistance requested for Gaza as part of President Biden’s $106 billion aid package,” Blackburn and her colleagues wrote. “As you know, sending aid to the Palestinians in Gaza is akin to funneling aid directly to Hamas.”

“Israel is our strongest ally in the Middle East. As such, it is perplexing why the President would ask Congress to enable the United States to inadvertently fund Hamas” terror campaign against Israel,” the group of senators added. “As you must recognize, there is no way for the U.S. to have proper oversight over the billions of dollars that the administration intends to funnel to Gaza when Gaza is being ruled by a terrorist organization.”

“You have always been an ally of Israel, and you represent the state with the biggest Jewish community in the world outside of Israel,” the senators continued in their letter to Schumer. “We are asking you to keep your commitment to stand with the Jewish State. That should include not sending one more dollar in humanitarian assistance to Gaza until Hamas is removed as the ruling party. Sending aid to the Palestinians would be a gift to Hamas, the same group that slaughtered over 1,400 Israelis and abducted over 200 hostages, including Americans.”

“We implore you to ensure the U.S. does not send aid that will only strengthen Hamas’ ability to murder more Jews. This is the time to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our closest ally in the Middle East as they fight for their very existence,” the senators said.

    Good luck with that.
Schumer is part of the problem and not part of the solution.
Here is a possible solution that will stop the use of taxpayer money to fund these Wars.
All wealthy politicians and celebrity’s that are for these Wars are to donate yearly, 50% of their gross wealth to fund the War of their choice until such War ends.
That should solve a lot of the World’s BS.

WHY ARE WE GIVING AID $$$$$ TO GAZA/HAMAS AND WAR MATERIALS TO ISRAEL???

WE ARE PERPETUATING WAR SO THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX CAN FEED ITSELF.

Senator Blackburn is 100% correct. The Biden cronies think Americans are stupid. Their virtue signaling is insulting.
Finally Egypt has partially opened its border gates for refugees. Palestinians can now escape terror from Hamas if they choose. Problem is many are radicalized. The coward Hamas headquarters operates under the hospital. They use civilians as human shields.
It’s time to pulverize the Hamas Barbarians. Take the land & provide a thriving economy in Gaza for those who wish to work in a Democratic Society, rather than live in squalor under Hamas.
There is no 2 State solution that allows for peace. Israel should claim the Gaza strip as a part of the State of Israel. Then & only then will there be peace for all.
Trump recognized Jerusalem as the Capitol of Israel. He recognized the Golan Heights as Israel & established the Abraham Accords which for the first time in history Arab countries were entering into trade agreements across the Middle East. This was possible bc Trump put extreme sanctions on Iran (Persia), so that they were unable to fund the terrorist groups in the Middle East.
The Biden camp has done more to pit countries all over the world against one another. It’s as if he is deliberately trying to start another World War. He also dies all he can to pit one group of Americans against another.
The Congress should follow Speaker Johnson’s leadership & fund assistance to Israel by cutting the IRS budget for 80K new armed IRS agents.
We all know who they will be coming after. Biden has weaponized our government against its own citizens, while they allow an invasion on our Southern Border. He is clearly not on America’s team. No money should go to Israel or anyone until the border is closed.
