Tennessee U.S. Reps. React to Screening of Bodycam Videos by Hamas of October 7 Terrorist Attack on Israel

Tennessee U.S. Representatives Tim Burchett (R-TN-02) and Steve Cohen (D-TN-09) took to social media in reaction to footage of Hamas’ October 7 attack on Israel.

The footage, more than 45 minutes long, was shown to a group of U.S. Representatives on Tuesday morning.

Cohen, the sole Democrat representing the Volunteer State in Congress, took to X, formerly Twitter, after the screening, writing, “Today I viewed the 47 minute video showing barbaric October 7 murders and desecrations of over 1400 Israel’s and others and hostage taking of 240.”

The Democrat congressman said, “We must NEVER FORGET! NEVER!”

Burchett also took to X and described the content as “just brutal.”

Yes, Every Kid

“Little babies shot and mutilated. Then showing video of kids hiding under chairs and tables as the terrorists were shooting them. Then you have a Hamas terrorist – a bunch of them – cutting a poor guy’s head off – who’s still alive – with a rusty hoe yelling “Allahu Akbar”,” Burchett described the footage in a video message.

He said viewing the footage of the terrorist attack makes him “more firmly committed” in his support of Israel, adding that “we need to let [Israel] do their business” in regards to eliminating Hamas.

While speaking to reporters after the screening on Tuesday, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA-04) described the video compilation of the attack as content able to “make anyone with a soul cry.”

“We had a large group of Republican and Democrat House members in the auditorium this morning, and you could have heard a pin drop – except for the sighs and the cries in the room because the video would make anyone with a soul cry,” Johnson said. “I agree with our friend, Prime Minister Netanyahu who said this is a battle between good versus evil, between light versus darkness, between civilization and barbarism. And we want to make absolutely clear where America stands in that fight, and we’ll continue to do that.”

  1. Transparency

You have to show it to the public or else you get 6 weeks of pro-Hamas rallies on West End, Centennial Park or downtown.

You can’t hide Hamas war crimes and allow the media to broadcast the tears of every Palestinian that skins their knee.

  2. levelheadedconservative

I don’t want to glorify the gore. Perhaps, however, these videos should be released to the public so when the ‘pro-Hamas’ rallies occur people know exactly what they are standing for.
