Gender Doctor Says Parents Who Oppose Transitioning Their Kid Have ‘Mental Illness’

Psychologist Dr. Harriette Wimms told attendees at a medical training summit in 2022 that parents who do not affirm their child’s gender identity have a “mental illness,” according to audio obtained exclusively by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The discussion took place at the World Professional Association for Transgender Health’s (WPATH) 27th annual training symposium in Montreal, Canada, on Sept. 17, 2022. Wimms, clinical director for The Village Family Support Center of Baltimore, suggested in a WPATH lecture on autism that parents who don’t affirm their children’s decisions are “transphobic” and have a “mental illness,” according to audio obtained in a public records request.

Atlanta PD Investigating Antisemitic, ‘Transphobic’ Flyers Strewn Around Town

The Atlanta Police Department (APD) announced Sunday that they were working with the department’s Homeland Security Unit (HSU) to investigate antisemitic flyers that were distributed around the city, according to a press release.

The flyers were distributed over the weekend in East Atlanta and reportedly had a “large rainbow-colored Star of David” as well as antisemitic and “transphobic” messages, according to 11Alive, an Atlanta-based news outlet. APD announced in a press release Sunday that they were “made aware of antisemitic and transphobic flyers” and were investigating the incident alongside the HSU.

Florida Mom: ‘Gender Ideology Almost Destroyed My Family’

January Littlejohn knew there was a problem when she picked up her daughter at Deer Lake Middle School in Tallahassee, Florida one September afternoon last year. Her daughter revealed she was interviewed by school officials about gender preference issues. She was asked by officials about changing her name and also about which restroom she preferred to use.

Littlejohn, who is a mother of three children and a licensed mental health counselor, was shocked. Shocked at the fact that the meeting took place without her knowledge.

She had previously informed school officials about the family situation. Her daughter was experiencing stress about her gender at the height of the pandemic and the family was completely caught by surprise. The family found a counselor and began researching the issue.

And now school officials had intervened between her and her daughter over a very personal issue.

She would later explain in a speech to the Florida Family Policy Council how “gender ideology almost destroyed my family.”

President Recalled, 17 Senators Suspended: Accusations of Transphobia, Election Integrity Rock Student Government

Students at the University of Houston voted in a Special Recall Election Oct. 26 and 27 to remove Student Government Association President Arsalan Darbin from his position.

A resolution to recall Darbin was set in motion Oct. 6 by Senator Abraham Sanchez, former president of the University of Houston College Democrats, who accused Darbin of fostering a hostile work environment.

“The resolution was very general, like I set a hostile work environment or fail to perform my duties,” Darbin told Campus Reform. “Just very general allegation[s]”.
