Tennessee U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) released a statement on Wednesday after a batch of 40 documents from a defamation case relating to the late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein were unsealed.
Today’s release of documents exposing part of Epstein’s potential client list is a step in the right direction, but we’re not done yet.

“Today’s release is a step in the right direction for the countless women and children who were trafficked and abused by Jeffrey Epstein and his associates,” Blackburn said in a statement. “I will not stop fighting for complete and total transparency until all of the records are released and the innocent victims receive the justice they deserve.”
The unsealed documents published by the Southern District of New York relate to a defamation case filed by Prince Andrew accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre against Epstein’s former girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell.
Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex crimes.
In November, during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Blackburn filed a subpoena to Epstein’s estate to provide the flight logs for his private plane; however, Committee Chairman Dick Durbin (D-IL) adjourned the meeting without calling up any subpoenas.
Durbin also blocked Blackburn from bringing forward her request for subpoenas, including for Epstein’s flight logs, during another committee hearing that same month.
Blackburn again called on Durbin to make Epstein’s flight records public on Wednesday.
“I am calling on Chairman Durbin, who has blocked my repeated requests to subpoena Epstein’s flight records, to follow through with his promise to make all of these records public. I will be urging a vote on my subpoena whenever possible at Judiciary Committee meetings until the American people get the full truth,” Blackburn said.
The Tennessee lawmaker also sent a letter to Durbin doubling down on her official request, saying, “The American people have the right to know who flew on Epstein’s plane and who potentially participated in his international sex trafficking ring.”

Unsealing the Faison-Scotty Campbell documents would be a “step in the right direction” too! If the General Assembly had a collective “ethical compass” they would do that, regardless of the judge’s recent ruling.
