Nashville Attorneys Were Big Contributors to Democrat Who Formed TN U.S. Senate Exploratory Committee, Then Withdrew

Several high profile attorneys at a major law firm with an office in Nashville donated money to an exploratory committee for a Democrat who considered running against U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R). 

According to Federal Elections Commission (FEC) records, partners at Holland & Knight, a Tampa, Florida based law firm with a large presence in Nashville, donated thousands to fellow attorney Joanne Sowell’s exploratory committee.

Sources: State Rep. Gloria Johnson Could Announce U.S. Senate Run Tuesday

State Rep. Gloria Johnson (D-Knoxville) will make stops in three major cities across the state Tuesday, and could announce her anticipated long shot U.S. Senate bid against Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), according to sources who spoke with The Tennessee Star. 

Johnson is expected to make announcements at 9 a.m. ET in Knoxville, noon CT in Nashville and 6:30 p.m. CT in Memphis.

Sen. Blackburn, House Colleagues Pen Letter to Mayorkas Seeking Answers on Alleged Illegal Alien Rapist Soccer Coach

U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) along with several of her U.S. House counterparts from Tennessee has penned a letter to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas demanding answers after an illegal alien living in Franklin allegedly raped several boys over a period of years. 

“Tennesseans deserve to know why DHS permitted a criminal to live in their community for decades and abuse their children after entering the country illegally,” Blackburn told The Tennessee Star Tuesday. “It is time to secure the southern border, deport criminal illegal aliens, and ensure our communities are safe. Until we get this crisis under control, every town is a border town, and every state is a border state.”

Blackburn Blasts Trans Sports on 50th Anniversary of Title IX

A U.S. Senator from Tennessee blasted transgender sports allowing biological men to compete against biological females Thursday, on what was the 50th anniversary of Title IX.

“Joe Biden is intent on erasing women and their historical accomplishments. No matter what the left says, men and women are created physically different – that’s a fact,” Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) told The Tennessee Star. “What Joe Biden is seeking to implement in female sports will result in two teams – one team of men and another team of folks that used to be men. It is extremely unfair to female athletes like Riley Gaines, that have dedicated their entire life to a sport only to be defeated by an athlete that was a man just three years ago.”
