Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit Postponed

The immersive Van Gogh experience has been postponed until February 17, 2022. The original opening date for the exhibit was November 4, 2021, but due to construction complications, the company offered a rescheduled ticket or refund to customers.

According to Fox 17, the company sent an email to customers who had purchased tickets and explained that construction was becoming difficult due to specific criteria that its show required. It stated in the email that “We truly understand your frustration and disappointment. We are eager to share our incredible immersive experience with you, but want to guarantee the best possible experience for you that we can.”

The exhibit consists of a grand series of large-format projections of Van Gogh’s paintings on screens arranged in a series of carefully lit rooms. In a promotional video, the artwork appears to move as if it’s being painted in real-time. Brushstrokes flow around some of Van Gogh’s most infamous paintings and bring his work to life.

Circles are drawn out on the ground, spaced six feet apart for COVID regulations.

Customers were not thrilled about this setback. One customer tweeted “i’ve been waiting EIGHT months to go to the immersive Van Gogh exhibit (was supposed to open in dec) and now they moved the nashville show dates to FEBRUARY 2022!!!!! i’m p**sed!!!!!!”

Another Twitter user commented on the post in agreement.

Yes, Every Kid

The exhibit was described as customers being surrounded by over 500,000 cubic square feet of monumental projections animating Vincent van Gogh’s oeuvre. “Wander through entrancing, moving images that highlight brush strokes, detail, and color – truly illuminating the mind of the genius.”

According to the Immersive Van Gogh website, the event “strives to highlight the unique architecture of its spaces while integrating influences from its history and community.”

Recently, Nashville welcomed the Michelangelo Sistine Chapel exhibit. The Tennessee Star covered the event, which allowed customers to walk through and see Michelangelo’s frescoes up close. The Star spoke to the Sistine Chapel exhibit manager, who said that everyone who had attended seemed to really enjoy the display.

Tickets for the Van Gogh exhibit are still available for purchase on the website. Prices range from $40 to $110 depending on the package selected.

The VIP Flex Experience includes a 2-hour flexibility window, priority access, a Van Gogh cushion, a limited edition poster, and a VIP souvenir laminate.

The Flex experience has the 2-hour flexibility window, the limited edition poster, and a cushion (only listed as a rental).

The basic ticket includes admission with no additional benefits.
