Senator Ted Cruz Endorses Wisconsin Gubernatorial Candidate Rebecca Kleefisch

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) endorsed former Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch in her bid for governor of Wisconsin.

When offering his endorsement to the gubernatorial contender, Cruz cited Kleefisch’s stance on the role of parents in their child’s education.

“I’m proud to endorse Rebecca Kleefisch for governor of Wisconsin,” Senator Cruz said. “Rebecca will fight for a stronger economy, school choice so parents are back in charge of their kids’ education, and she will work to protect Life and our Second Amendment. I ask my fellow conservatives to join me in supporting Rebecca’s campaign for governor today!”

In addition to Cruz, the Republican has the backing of Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, and former Governor Scott Walker.

“I’m thankful to have Senator Cruz’s endorsement of our campaign to take back Wisconsin and give power back to the people,” Rebecca Kleefisch responded. “Senator Cruz knows the fight Wisconsin is up against on the federal level and knows our state needs a strong, proven leader as governor to fight against Bidenflation and for our pro-life and pro-2nd Amendment values.”

The endorsement places the GOP senator at odds with former President Donald Trump.

Trump endorsed businessman Tim Michels, calling him “an America First Conservative who Supports our Second Amendment, Honors our Brave Law Enforcement and First Responders, and Stands Strongly against the Woke Mob trying to destroy our Country.”

Recent polling has placed Michels narrowly ahead of Kleefisch, by a 1-point margin. However, a large number of Republican voters remain undecided in the contest.

The winner of the GOP contest will advance to the November general election to take on Governor Tony Evers. Evers, who will likely face an uphill battle due to the national political landscape, has dramatically outpaced his Republican contenders in fundraising.
