According to local reports, about 600 illegal aliens crossed into the United States on Wednesday night into early Thursday morning.
“Roughly 600 people crossed in separate groups into Yuma since midnight according to volunteers handing out water,” said reporter Ali Bradley. “When I arrived there were roughly 100 still waiting. This is the gap I’m told will stay open to act as a funnel for Border Patrol to work more efficiently.”
The Yuma Sector Border Patrol Wednesday said it caught a Mexican national who has a record of sexually abusing children crossing the southern border illegally.
The agents “caught a sex offender who illegally entered the U.S. from Mexico Wednesday,” and that “Marco Julio Bran, a 35-year-old Mex[ican] national, was convicted in 2008 for lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and was sentenced to three years in prison,” according to Chief Patrol Agent Chris Clem.
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Yuma Sector late last week announced that it arrested a previously convicted and deported child sex offender attempting to reenter the United States.
“Yuma Sector agents arrested a child rapist that illegally entered the U.S. on Monday,” CBP’ Yuma’s Chief Patrol Agent Chris T. Clem said. “The migrant, Edgard Antonio Gutierrez-Martinez, has felony convictions for first degree child rape and incest. Agents turned over the migrant to US Marshals this morning to face prosecution.”
With record heat and an open invitation from the White House, illegal alien migrants attempting to cross into the United States through the desert south of Arizona, continue to die in higher-than-usual numbers.
“A 45-year-old man died Sunday morning after a group of migrants got lost through the Southern Arizona desert,” KPNX reported.
As the Biden Administration continues to usher in a surge of migrants from south of the border, the “humanitarian” approach to immigration policy is taking its toll on some.
“The bodies of an unusually large number of migrants who died in Arizona’s borderlands are being recovered this summer amid record temperatures in the sun-scorched desert and rugged mountains,” Associated Press reported.
A recipient of former President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program benefits was arrested by Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents Wednesday.
The suspect, a female citizen of El Salvador, along with a male counterpart who is a U.S. Citizen, were caught attempting to smuggle four Mexican nationals across the border illegally, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) press release said.
