Tennessee Congressman Mark Green Introduces Bill to Bring U.S. Companies Back Home from China

Tennessee U.S. Congressman Mark Green (R-TN-07) re-introduced legislation in the 118th Congress on Tuesday that would work to bring U.S. companies home from China.

Green’s Bring American Companies Home Act – initially introduced in 2020 – would “use tariff revenues collected on goods from China to provide a tax incentive that offsets moving costs for American companies in order to move their production back to the United States from China.”

The bill was referred to the House Committee on Ways and Means.

Citing the pandemic as a reason not to “rely on China for critical supplies,” Green added that China “cannot be trusted” to treat American businesses “fairly.”

“If the pandemic taught us anything, it’s that we cannot rely on China for critical supplies. We also know Communist China cannot be trusted to treat our businesses fairly. We must get our businesses home—and my legislation will help accomplish that,” Green said in a statement.

“For the sake of our economic and national security, we must reduce dependence on Communist China. We can distance ourselves from China economically while also opening doors of opportunity for America’s business owners here at home,” Green added.

While discussing the bill during an interview with Fox Business, Green also spoke about his nearshoring bill – which he introduced in early February – as another solution to relocating U.S. companies from China.

Green’s nearshoring bill, titled the Western Hemisphere Nearshoring Act, would relocate supply chains and business operations to Latin America instead of to China, as previously reported by The Tennessee Star.

If enacted, according to Green, his nearshoring bill would further make the U.S. less dependent on Chinese manufacturing, provide Latin America with economic growth and jobs, not at the expense of taxpayers, and decrease migration to the U.S.-Mexico border.

GS- I will not attempt to defend the indefensible BUT I know of no US company building up a military with the pronounced of dominating the world. Since China has done exactly that I am in favor of finding a method for returning/starting up companies to produce products that now come from Ameria’s number one enemy. Then we can deal with all of the matters you have listed.

BTW – TICTOC does not have to give out money to influence elections and other American domestic activities. TicToc simply fills their app with Chinese propaganda and biasness.

I’m not aware of China companies donating to BLM, LGBTQP and other far-left groups. I’m not aware of China companies upper management demanding that states not pass anti-child mutilation laws or threaten to leave the state. I’m not aware of China companies filling management positions with useless diversity, equity, inclusion morons to drain resources from companies. I’n not aware of China companies pushing the cult of “climate change”.
I’m not aware of TikTok handing out money to influence elections in favor of far left wing candidates like (Facebook’s) Zuck-bucks.
    Republicans are absolutely useless.
