Former President Donald Trump endorsed Republican Congressman Mike Carey (R-OH-15) for re-election on Thursday.
“Congressman Mike Carey is doing a fantastic job representing the people of Ohio’s 15th Congressional District,” Trump said in a statement. “With my endorsement, Mike resoundingly won his special election last year. True to his campaign promises, Mike has been a courageous fighter for Ohio and our Economy. He is Strong on the Border, Tough on Crime, Defends the Second Amendment, and as a Veteran, he is actively working to support our Brave Military and Vets. Mike Carey has my Complete and Total Endorsement!”
Congressman Carey replied to Trump’s statement.
“Thank you, President Trump! It is an honor to have your endorsement. I will continue to fight for the America First agenda in Congress & look forward to seeing you in the Buckeye State this Saturday! Ohioans are ready to help bring a red wave this November & #FirePelosi,” Carey tweeted.

Trump traveled to Delaware, Ohio on Saturday to hold a rally at Delaware County Fairgrounds. The rally comes just 10 days before the May 3rd Republican primary. A primary election is an election in which registered voters select a candidate that they believe should be a political party’s candidate for elected office to run in the general election, according to Ballotpedia.
Carey was sworn into the House of Representatives on November 4th, 2021 after winning a special election against Democrat candidate Allison Russo. Carey currently serves on the House Budget Committee as well as the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee.
During his reelection campaign, Carey has advocated for “getting back to the policies that work” when it comes to government spending, energy independence, and border security. The congressman is also pro-life, anti-CRT, and supports the second amendment.
