Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski is campaigning with Mike Carey in his efforts to win the Republican nomination for Ohio’s 15th Congressional District.
The duo have announced 7 campaign stops throughout the district over a two day period.
“I’m running because I believe we have too many politicians in Washington and I’m an outsider, somebody who is willing to take the fight to Washington and get back to the America First economy that we had under President Trump,” Carey told a group of supporters at one of the campaign events with Lewandowski.
Lewandowski endorsed Carey’s campaign earlier this year. In a tweet, he said, “Mike Carey has been my friend for over 25 yrs. He’s the kind of outsider & fighter, the OH 15th, @GOP & the country need right now to beat back the radical ideas coming from Pelosi & Biden. He’s MAGA, America First & Trump down to his bones.”

On his campaign website, Carey has promised to fight “stop reckless Democrat spending that is causing rapid inflation and only support spending bills that are both responsible and transparent.” He also pledged to “drain the swamp.”
Lewandowski was one of President Donald Trump’s first campaign advisors when he launched his campaign for president in 2016. Further, Lewandowski served as Trump’s campaign manager throughout the GOP primary effort. He remains one of Trump’s advisors — being selected to run a new pro-Trump super PAC.
The open seat for the 15th district was recently vacated by Steve Stivers. He left Congress early to become chief executive of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce.
12 Republicans are running for the primary nomination that will take place on August 3. The winner will face one of the two Democrats running for the open seat.
