Former President Donald Trump will hold a rally in Ohio later this month, ahead of key primary races for Republican candidates.
“President Trump coming this month to the Delaware County Fairgrounds! Stay tuned for details!” the Delaware County Republican Party posted Tuesday afternoon.
The event is officially called a “Save America Rally,” and will be held at the Delaware County Fairgrounds.
According to several reports, Trump will speak at 7 p.m., with three hours of speaking time allotted ahead of him. Historically, such speaking slots have been reserved for allied politicians.
But the former president has not waded into many of Ohio’s high-profile races just yet, and the jury is still out on whether he will make any more endorsements before the May 3 primary elections.
Former aide to the 45th president Max Miller is the only politician in the state running for federal office who has received Trump’s coveted endorsement.
Initially, Miller was slated to battle Representative Anthony Gonzalez (R-OH-16) in that district’s primary. Gonzalez is one of ten Republicans who voted to impeach Trump after the January 6, 2020 riot at the Capitol in Washington. He announced that he would not seek re-election shortly after his impeachment vote.
Miller, though, will run in the much more left-leaning 13th district after he was drawn out of the 16th district during the state’s redistricting process.
Other high-profile races in the state include a battle for outgoing Republican Senator Rob Portman’s seat.
Several candidates, including businessman Mike Gibbons, former Ohio GOP Chairwoman Jane Timken, author and attorney J.D. Vance, and former Ohio State Treasurer Josh Mandel are vying for the Republican nomination.
Vance has received the closest thing to a Trump endorsement of any candidate – the blessing of Donald Trump Jr.
“I haven’t commented previously, but I’m getting tired of watching the neocons in #OHSen running dishonest ads calling [J.D. Vance] a never-Trumper. It’s BS. A lot of conservatives were skeptical of DJT in 2016 & got won over when they saw him in action. JD is 100% America First,” Trump Jr. said of Vance in March.

Meanwhile, Mandel has received the endorsement of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX).
“As our nation faces crisis after crisis under Joe Biden, our country needs Conservative fighters to stand up to the radical Democrats who want to exploit these problems to deliver socialism to America. That’s why I am supporting Josh Mandel for U.S. Senate,” Cruz said in that endorsement.
Trump ally and former Congressman Jim Renacci is taking on incumbent Gov. Mike DeWine (R), the latter of whom has been at odds with Trump in the past.
