DeSantis Says Funds Allocated to Bus Illegal Aliens Out of Florida

With the help of the state legislature, Florida’s governor is one step closer to busing illegal aliens out of the state.

According to several reports, Governor Ron DeSantis (R) is working with lawmakers to allocate $12 million from the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) budget for the removal of illegal aliens from the Sunshine State.

DeSantis appears to be lining himself up to make good on a November promise, in which he said he would send the illegal aliens in his state to Delaware, President Joe Biden’s home state. That promise was made in response to the Biden administration flying illegal aliens into Florida and other states around the country.

“If they’re going to come here, we’ll provide buses,” DeSantis said at the time. “I will send them to Delaware and do that. If he’s not going to support the border being secure, then he should be able to have everyone there.”

The Governor’s Office did not return a Wednesday comment request.

Texas notched a victory over the Biden administration Wednesday when a bus filled with migrants who crossed into that state illegally were dropped off just blocks from the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.

More buses will be arriving soon, according to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R).

The migrant relocations occur amid an ongoing battle with the Biden administration over the upcoming end of Title 42, a rule put in place by former President Donald Trump. That rule, authorized in 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, allowed border security officials to turn away illegal aliens who crossed into the United States.

Biden is ending the rule on May 23, which has caused an uproar, particularly among border states.

“Texans demand and deserve an aggressive, comprehensive strategy to secure our border – not President Biden’s lackluster leadership,” Abbott said in a statement regarding Title 42. “As the federal government continues to roll back commonsense policies that once kept our communities safe, our local law enforcement has stepped up to protect Texans from dangerous criminals, deadly drugs, and illegal contraband flooding into the Lone Star State. Texas will always be a law-and-order state, and I thank our law enforcement officers who have answered the call to protect and serve their fellow Texans in the federal government’s absence in securing our border.”

The state of Arizona has sued the Biden administration, asking a court for an injunction that would stop the president from ending Title 42.
