Poll Shows Herschel Walker with a Significant Lead in Georgia GOP U.S. Senate Primary

A new Trafalgar Group poll shows Georgia GOP Senate Candidate and former NFL star Herschel Walker in the lead for next year’s midterm election. According to Breitbart News, the poll shows Walker would secure 75.7 percent of the vote in the Republican primary.

The poll’s respondents were asked, “If the Republican primary election for U.S. Senate were held tomorrow, for whom would you most likely vote?”

In the same poll, Walker’s closest competitor in the race, Georgia’s Commissioner of Agriculture Gary Black, only received 6.3 percent of the vote.

The remaining GOP candidates, Retired Navy SEAL Latham Saddler and Air Force Veteran Kelvin King accounted for less than 5 percent of the total vote.

The poll was conducted from September 2nd through September 4th with 1078 respondents.

After much anticipation, Herschel Walker launched his Senate campaign last month on August 5th. Since then, he has secured the endorsement of former President Donald Trump.

In a statement through his Save America PAC on September 2nd regarding the endorsement, Trump said, “Herschel Walker is a friend, a Patriot, and an outstanding American who is going to be a GREAT United States Senator. He embodies ‘America First’ and the winning spirit of Georgia. Herschel is tough on Crime and Borders, and he will always stand in support of Law Enforcement, Military, and our Vets. He will fight hard for our Second Amendment and Voter Integrity. Herschel Walker will never let you down. He was a great football player and will be an even better U.S. Senator — if that is even possible. He has my Complete and Total Endorsement!”

The 2022 primary election in Georgia is May 24. The top GOP candidate will face off November 8 against incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock (D-GA), who won in a runoff election against Republican Kelly Loeffler earlier this year.
