Fredericks: Joining us now Doug Collins, FOJ. Friend of John. Doug is a Congressman and ran in what we think was an election. Lin Woods says no. It’s going to be a new election. We’ll see what happens. But he’s also heading up the Trump legal effort here in the campaign in Georgia. Hey, Doug thank you for being with us.

Collins: Hey John it’s good to be with you. It’s been a crazy couple of weeks and we’re coming to the end of one page. Looks like here that I am glad David Shafer and I’ve been working hard. To say one thing, this recount has exposed though John something that we’ve never had. Remember if they don’t want it to go through this you know look they’ve not shown it.

They’ve not agreed on the consent decrees. We’ve had issues with signatures. They’ve shown they didn’t want to have transparency with this one in ten stuff. But the one thing it has shown is we have found problems. We have found new votes. We have found ballots not counted. This is the kind of thing that we’ve got to keep pushing. And as this transitions, that’s what we’re gonna be looking at.

Fredericks: Okay so you just saw the two tweets by David Shafer who by the way Doug is a true warrior. I mean I go back with Dave for a long time. There’s never a fight he shied from. I mean he is just beside himself with all these shenanigans going on. What is the deal with this fake audit?

Collins: Well this is the issue that we have right now and David and I texted back and forth and I saw him you know he sent that out and look he’s right. One of the things is the problem of transparency. If the secretary of state’s office wants to be transparent they want to say everything’s fine and then as I tweeted out last night when we found more votes in Fayette County I just said, any comment now secretary of state?

Because he would rather attack the president. He’d rather attack me. He called me a liar and a charlatan for simply saying we have discrepancies here. We have problems here. We have documented this so that you know I’m assuming there’ll be challenges you know after this are going to be found. The problem we’re having here is that he just wants to get through and say no there was no problem.

We’ve talked to elections officials across this state who have said they got what they consider very poor guidance from the secretary of state’s office. We’re documenting all this stuff. The biggest issue that people need to know right now is that votes were found. We have found issues that were not counted. We are working through those right now. They’re not just simply as the secretary of state’s office just simply you know easily explained.

The Floyd County stuff is still you know the actual elections official over there said that it’s a combination of machine and human error. Well, John exactly what is that? What does that mean machine and human error? Because last time I checked machines were programmed by humans. Machines were run by humans.

What does that mean? That there was a machine and human error? So these are the kind of things that we need to continue that I’ve been you know in contact with the president and the team as they go forward. It’s still there today though is a big day in the sense that the recount will more than likely be finished and then we can move to the next phase.

Fredericks: What’s the next phase, Doug Collins?

Collins: The next phase will be then this will be up to the Trump team and this will be a part that they’re going to deal with what the suits say. You know Lin Wood already has a suit out there about this consent decree which I think you know deserves to be heard. We’ll see where that suit goes. Then they’ll also be a discussion on what the Trump team wants to do with the information that we have found during this recount. And you know will it make a difference and if not. But it also leads to this John. This is something you can now that you’re you know you’re starting your paper down here congrats on that good job.

Fredericks: Thank you.

Collins: You know in getting that forward. You know we’re happy to you know talk about that. But I mean the thing that’s got to happen is fundamental change has to happen down here. Some of it is looking like Lin Wood said any lawsuits and coming forward but also there’s some responsibility that the legislature is going to have to take.

It doesn’t look like they’re going to do that before January. But when they come in in January, there are serious issues that need to be dealt with of what we have uncovered and what has been happening. And my hope will be that you know that I’m not going to back down from talking about this. In fact, we’ve got to keep doing it more across this country. Republicans have been slow to challenge this stuff. And we got to do a better job explaining why our vote matters and why our views matter and how we have how the Democrats have taken advantage of a system that frankly helped put in place.

Fredericks: So Doug Collins is with us. Doug Collins is the congressman from Georgia leading Donald Trump’s legal team here in Georgia. Also headed up his impeachment defense. He was fantastic doing that. So I got to get the two things, Doug. Let me just read you the most recent tweet here from David Shafer warrior.

He says one of our monitors discovered 9,626 vote errors in the DeKalb County hand count. One batch was labeled 10,707 for Biden and 13 for Trump. An improbable margin even by DeKalb standards. The actual count of the batch was 1,081 for Biden and 13 for Trump. They spiked the number down by 9,000. That means it’s now a three thousand vote race and this is only in DeKalb. What is going on here?

Collins: Well we’ve already turned that over to the secretary of state’s office and said well this needs to be investigated further. The question is and a hazard our monitors caught was the number discrepancy and we have gotten affidavits and we’re looking at it. The issue here is it’s not was it that the numbers that have changed. The question was did the numbers change on the actual you know counts that they were doing.

The bigger issue here is the observer caught it and now we actually you know have it documented that there was a problem in this it was it was called. We’re asking the secretary of state’s office to investigate. Send investigators out there. Read the affidavits and see what actually happened to make sure that the number didn’t change in the bigger scheme of the vote. And that’s where we’re at right now.

What David is highlighting here is the perceptual problem of lack of transparency. When the secretary of state put out guidance it was very generic. He did it you know sort of open-ended to let every county do what they wanted to do. When he ordered the recount he could set the parameters. And then after we challenged him on this one, look we originally had it down to one and we wanted one to one. They said one to four.

And then all of a sudden within the next day they said one to 10. Well, we challenged him David Shafer and I wrote a letter that challenged him on that. Then the secretary of state’s office said that we never said anything. That’s not true. Our attorneys have pointed out that fallacy already. And what David is pointing out here is again this perceived lack of transparency was caught.

We did have somebody there. So that’s been the problem all along. The secretary of state’s office not acknowledging that one in ten or these other numbers that they were putting out there should have been a lot better guidance so the transparency and that everybody could feel sure that the count was going as it should be.
