TRUMPDATE: Latest From the Team Trump Virginia Campaign for September 17

by Jordan Bondurant

Welcome to the Thursday edition of our daily Virginia Trump campaign update! We will provide our readers with daily updates on the Trump Virginia campaign from today to November 3 (and after…if need be!).

It’s officially 47 days until the election on November 3 – and 12 days until President Trump and Joe Biden square off in the first presidential debate.

President Trump sat face-to-face with ABC’s George Stephanopolous on Tuesday night, answering questions from undecided voters. The reviews, unsurprisingly from the usual suspects in media, seemed to be mixed. The president had his good and not-so-good moments, but nothing that would otherwise send supporters running for the hills.

Trump Office Grand Opening

This evening from 5:30-7:30, Team Trump Virginia will be holding its grand opening of the campaign office in York County. Scott Taylor will be there and take part in the ribbon-cutting, and you’ll hear remarks from Daniel Gade and John Fredericks.

The 7,000 square foot space, located at 4600 George Washington Memorial Highway, Yorktown, VA 23692, will serve as the campaign hub for the peninsula. It was also funded with individual money partly by George Clark.

“We’re really looking forward to the event,” Clark said. “I think it will be a great way for us to show unity as we support Scott Taylor and Daniel Gade in their respective congressional races, and show our support for President Trump’s re-election.”

Clark, who supported President Trump going back to 2015 when he first announced his intentions to run for the Republican nomination, said the location of the office was key because that stretch of road in York sees more than 53,000 vehicles a day pass by. He also said even as the space has only been open a short time, more than 600 have stopped by to pick up signs and other campaign materials. The Team Trump volunteers make on average of 6,000 phone calls a night to voters according to Clark.

“I think the passion people have for President Trump has increased tenfold,” he said. “It’s great to see, and we’re doing everything we can to get the word out across York, Poquoson, Hampton and Newport News.”

The office will be open Monday through Saturday from 12pm to 6pm, and the space will be holding watch parties for the upcoming debates, as well as for the returns on Election Night.
