Michael, you know, this really kind of folds right in on top of your interview, because I’m kind of looking at what’s going on with all this stuff with the Voting Rights Act and all this build back better and what the Democrats actually up to.
And so what I’ve done is and this is going to be a theme that I’m going to do with the Crommentary’s for the foreseeable future. And that is we all know that if you don’t learn from history, you’re going to repeat it.
It’s very important that when you learn from history, you actually learn the accurate history, because if you learn the inaccurate history, then you’re going to draw false conclusions based on what you think is true that’s not. And so let’s look at it.
Let’s remember the philosophers Plato, Aristotle and Socrates a long time ago, Plato in particular, was interested in the essence of a thing. It’s very nature. And so I want to go over the Democrat Party and its nature. We as a country.
Let me just set this up with what I’m talking about by institutional memory. The monarchies of Europe went on for hundreds of years, and they had an institutional memory that even though they were wrong in what they did, they still existed and they still kept doing.
I just finished watching a TV miniseries called Pillars of the Earth. And it was about the building of a church in Europe that actually exists. The miniseries takes place over about a 40 year period, and the characters in it are young to begin with.
And then by the time the movie is over and the church is, by the way, is not even close to being finished, they’re old and they die. But nothing about the area changes over that 40 years. They’re still riding their horses back and forth, and everything is still the same.
If you go back and look at history and you look at the year 1000 all the way to 1750, you’ll see that man’s economic improvement over that period of time was almost nothing. You couldn’t tell any difference in any 100 year period it stayed so static.
But the monarchies were the reason for that. Then you look at the emperors of China. They go back 5,000 years, and you look at Islam, which was founded in 600. And the institution of Islam still has a very strong memory that pervades the way the Islamists think.
And so what we’re going to be doing because I’m going out of time here is we’re going to be doing in future Crommentaries is going over the history and the memory of the institutions of the United States. And the one I’m going to focus on first is the Democratic Party because it’s the oldest political party in the world today.
It was formed in 1828. And what has been its nature? What was its nature and its origins? And has that nature changed even though history has changed and even though the world has changed?
The question is, has the essence of the Democratic Party changed from what it was to begin with? And I’m going to be arguing that its essence is still very much the same and that’s what plagues the country today.
