Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN) defended Dr. Anthony Fauci’s COVID-19 advice after President Donald Trump’s remarks.
The senator also stated that people weren’t doing enough to counteract the spread of the virus.
“Dr. Fauci is one of our country’s most distinguished public servants. He has served 6 presidents, starting with Ronald Reagan. If more Americans paid attention to his advice, we’d have fewer cases of COVID-19, & it would be safer to go back to school & back to work & out to eat.”

The tweet is a response to President Trump’s criticism of Fauci on Monday. Fauci recently told 60 Minutes that the White House has limited his ability to talk with the media, and that the president equates wearing a mask with weakness. Trump tweeted that Fauci’s perspective was interesting since he “seemed to get more airtime than anybody since the late, great, Bob Hope.”
In March, Dr. Fauci stated that healthy Americans didn’t need to wear masks.
“The masks are important for someone who’s infected to prevent them from infecting someone else. Right now, in the United States, people should not be walking around wearing masks. When you’re in the middle of an outbreak, wearing a mask might make people ‘feel’ a little bit better, and it might even help block a droplet – but it’s not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is. And often, there are unintended consequences. People keep fiddling with the mask and keep touching their face.”
When asked if these mask-wearing habits could introduce bacteria into the masks, Fauci affirmed. This aligns with the recent Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) study which indicated a positive correlation between increased mask wearing and infection rates with either COVID-19 or other respiratory illnesses.
Fauci never retracted his first statements on masks. In a later interview, Fauci explained away his earlier professional opinion. He stated that he and other officials were concerned with shortages of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and masks for health care workers.
“No I don’t regret anything I said then because in the context of the time in which I said it, it was correct,” he said. “We were told in our task force meetings that we have a serious problem with the lack of PPEs and masks for health providers who are putting themselves in harm’s way every day to take care of sick people.”
Alsoon Monday, the National Academy of Medicine awarded Fauci the first-ever “Presidential Citation for Exemplary Leadership.” The president didn’t issue the award.

Then indeed, the professional opinion should have been to isolate everyone to protect them from viruses. Instead, he was perfectly willing to sacrifice the unimportant, non-essential people with a lie. The unconstitutional governor executive orders often explicitly stated that the face coverings were not to be medical grade (known not to work) to save the PPE for more important people. Forced your dentists to turn over their PPE for more important people. Then this fraud goes to a baseball game you are not allowed to attend and doesn’t wear the damn mask he thinks everyone needs – whether they have symptoms or not. National leaders exempt themselves from public health crisis recommendations. They do not believe the Coronahoax….why should you?
Fauci is a big pharma prostitute. He is not a scientist nor is he an expert in anything except a long career of bullying and cozing up to big pharma. Gee I wonder how much money good old leftist Lamar has gotten over the years from big pharma.
Karen, I think you can go to the Kaiser medical site and they have a list of how much each senator and representative has taken from pharmaceutical companies. Almost everyone of them and Lamar has certainly lined his deep pockets.
The people taking Dr. Fauci’s advice (think Nashville) don’t have a school, a job, or a restaurant to go to. The one’s who ignored him completely as in South Dakota are enjoying all of the above. The RINO Senator needs to retire. He’s got a terrible case of RCD.

Dr Fauci is a disgrace. A swamp creature that has been there way to long , its time for him to go, way past time. He and the scarf lady are two of the worst things that came with the pandemic, because if a democrat were in office nothing would have happened when Covid 19 came to be known and active. As I’ve said before, would Fauci advocate for selling condoms made from a perforated material? And sperm cells are MUCH larger than viruses! These cloth face coverings are nothing more than a feel good response from an impotent governmental agency (and their over-paid, over -the-hill leader) that didn’t have a clue about the virus, but had to act like they did! Pathetic!
