Wisconsin Senator Johnson Responds After Backlash Regarding COVID Vaccine Comments

Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) responded after backlash regarding his view on COVID vaccines.

Johnson said, “I won’t apologize for being in awe of creation or for the assumption that immunity from COVID infection might outperform immunity created in a lab.”

Johnson came under fire on Tuesday for comments he made on a conservative radio show about the efficacy of natural immunity.

The senator said, “Why do we assume that the body’s natural immune system isn’t the marvel that it is? Why do we think that we can create something better than God in terms of combating disease?”

Critics exploded, and Johnson trended on Twitter for several hours as Democrats and others ridiculed him for his views on natural immunity.

Johnson said on Wednesday that “unfortunately” COVID vaccines are not as “safe or effective” as they had been made out to be.

He wrote, “The truth is, the fully vaccinated and boosted can get infected and are transmitting the disease. Biden and the COVID gods don’t want people to know that, just like they ignored and sabotaged early treatment. Reality is dawning and they don’t want to be held accountable.”

Johnson said the government can’t admit that they were wrong. “They can’t admit they’ve been wrong, because their mismanagement cost lives. They will use all their substantial power to divert attention away from their culpability.”

Johnson also posted a VAERS fact sheet, saying “Over 1 million adverse events and over 21,000 deaths. 30% of those deaths occurred on day 0, 1, or 2 following vaccination. When will federal agencies start being transparent with Americans? Why do they continue to ignore early treatment?”
