Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate Rebecca Kleefisch called on Governor Tony Evers to protect pro-life organizations in the state.
The demand follows an apparent arson attack on Wisconsin Family Action, a prominent pro-life group in the state.
“Tony Evers and Josh Kaul need to immediately take all actions necessary to protect Wisconsin pro-life groups from terrorism,” said Rebecca Kleefisch, a candidate running in the GOP primary to take on Evers. “The Evers administration’s typical weak statements and absent leadership won’t be enough to protect pro-life groups from these violent threats. I stand with Wisconsinites who defend the right to life in their mission and will fight for law and order.”
The attack comes after a leaked draft of an opinion from the Supreme Court that suggested that the judicial branch will overturn Roe v. Wade, a landmark case that established the constitutional right for an abortion.
In the attack on the group, the vandals wrote, “If abortions aren’t safe, then you aren’t either.”
However, the pro-life organization did not back down, saying the action “fails to frighten us, and instead steels the resolve of law-abiding, common-sense, every-day folks to stand up and push back.”
After the destruction, Governor Evers did denounce the violence:
“We condemn violence and hatred in all forms, including the actions at Wisconsin Family Action in Madison last night. We reject violence against any person for disagreeing with another’s view. Violence is not the way forward. Hurting others is never the answer,” he said in a tweet.

In addition to the attack on Wisconsin Family Action, pro-abortion activists have protested outside the homes of Justices of the Supreme Court, leading the Senate to pass a measure to increase security measures for them and their families.
