Immigration Expert Todd Bensman: Biden-Harris Made Deal with Mexico to Stop Illegal Immigrants Leading Up to Presidential Election

Todd Bensman, senior national security fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies, said the Biden-Harris administration quietly secured a deal with Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez-Obrador at the beginning of the year to help throttle illegal border crossing numbers leading up to the November 5 general election.

“The numbers that you’re seeing now of illegal crossings are way, way down, primarily because [the Biden-Harris administration] cut a campaign-related deal with the Mexican government to create a kind of Gaza strip in their southern provinces down there along the border with Guatemala and scrape clean all the immigrants they can lay hands on in the northern provinces and ship them down there and block them in. That’s been happening since Christmas, so the numbers are way down,” Bensman explained on Wednesday’s edition of The Michael Patrick Leahy Show.

Bensman noted, however, that the administration’s deal with Mexico is not expected to last past the November 5 election, which is when he said he believes the number of illegal crossings will begin to rise once the migrants who were shipped south make their way to the U.S.-Mexico border again.

“You can’t expect the Mexican government to comply with such a tall order after November 5th. I’d say it’ll start back up after the election – not Inauguration Day – so we should start to see the Mexicans just open up the throttle as soon as they don’t have to do this anymore,” Bensman explained.

Bensman said the deal with Mexico is simply an effort by the Democrats to maintain the presidency by claiming that border crossings are decreasing this year.

“It’s a terrible burden for the Mexicans to have to do these operations for the Democrats to win office,” Bensman added.

In the case that Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris wins the November 5 election, Bensman projected that another 10-15 million illegal aliens would enter the country under four years of a Harris administration – bringing the total number of illegal aliens that have entered the country in 8 years under Democratic leadership to 20 million.

“If [Harris] is elected, that will be read as a signal from the American people that they didn’t really care enough about this issue and they’ll say it’s a mandate that we keep doing our policies because the American people value ‘immigration.’ We think that there’s probably somewhere on the order of 10 million new foreign nationals inside the country. A lot of people think it’s higher but we at the Center for Immigration Studies go conservative on that count. Another 10 million, maybe 15 million, so that in eight years, there’ll be 20 million people in the country,” Bensman said.
