Viral Video Shows Children in Uganda Recreating Assassination Attempt of Former President Donald Trump

Uganda Children Role Play Trump Assassination Attempt

A video of a group of Ugandan children recreating the moment former President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt over the weekend has gone viral on social media.

The video, first shared by TikTok user @bloodoffical0, shows a group of school-aged children recreating the moment shots rang out at the Butler, Pennsylvania rally on Saturday, July 13.

Trump was grazed by a single bullet in his upper right ear in what is formally being investigated as a failed assassination attempt during the campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

The suspected 20-year-old shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was fatally shot by Secret Service personnel after he shot and killed one spectator – identified as former Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Company Chief Corey Comperatore – and injured three others, including the former president.

The children used household objects to create the props for the video including plastic crates to recreate Trump’s podium and wooden sticks as the firearms carried by law enforcement as Trump was escorted away from the stage.

Audio from Saturday’s shooting played over the video of the children recreating Trump and the Secret Service’s actions once shots rang out.

The child depicting the former president was seen raising his fist in defiance after getting shot – just as Trump did – as a group of children, pretending to be Secret Service agents, escorted the child acting as Trump off of the stage.

The video of the Ugandan children has been widely shared on social media, with Republican pundits and others pointing out the impact Trump’s reaction to the assassination attempt has around the world.

A U.S. Navy Veteran, for example, commented on a repost of the video via X, formerly Twitter, saying, “That moment touched something primal and deep. I don’t yet think we are aware of the profundity of it being witnessed so widely and immediately around the globe.”

Sebastian Gorka, who served as the deputy assistant for Trump, also commented on the viral video of the children, saying, “Children in Uganda recreate the mythic and forever moment President Trump was shot. The Left will never be able to hide what happened.”

President of the Republic of Uganda Yoweri K Museveni was among the world leaders who reacted to the assassination attempt of Trump, who released the following statement:

I learnt of the assassination attempt on His Excellency Donald Trump’s life on Saturday, July 13, 2024, during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

On behalf of the Government and people of Uganda, and on my own behalf, I wish to convey our deep and heartfelt sympathies to His Excellency. At the same time, I condemn this despicable and cowardly assassination attempt that put his life and that of his supporters at risk.

I also extend my deepest condolences to the family that lost their loved one. As freedom fighters and peace-lovers, we condemn political violence because it threatens democracy wherever it manifests. I wish His Excellency and all those injured a speedy recovery. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.
