On Thursday, the Biden Administration announced its intention to expand healthcare access for illegal aliens, at a cost to the American taxpayers.
As reported by ABC News, the Biden White House’s proposed new rule would give access to the public health programs Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act (known as “Obamacare”) to illegal aliens who are eligible for amnesty through the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. The rule would change the definition of “lawful presence” so that access to such health programs would be available to DACA illegals who are still not legal citizens.

An amendment to the bill to build a new $2.2 billion Tennessee Titans stadium has been the subject of pushback this week heading into the scheduled second vote on the project from the Metro Nashville Council on Tuesday.
The amendment would add an increasing tax on non-NFL ticketed events at the new stadium and send what mayor’s office staff estimated would be $470 million to Nashville’s general fund over the 30-year deal.

Nike will sponsor a “Queer Youth Field Day” in Memphis, Tennessee, on Saturday for participants aged 13 to 25, according to an event flyer.
The event is co-hosted by OutMemphis, an LGBTQ+ nonprofit, and is intended for all LGBTQ-identifying “youth” and allies, according to its registration website. Activities are free and include games, bouncy houses, face-painting, tug-of-war, tie-dying and friendship bracelets.

Utah Republican House Speaker Brad Wilson announced Thursday he has formed an exploratory committee to run for Senate – the first sign that he will challenge Republican Sen. Mitt Romney in 2024.
Wilson is weighing a senatorial bid because he is concerned with the “out of control spending” in Washington, and wouldn’t say whether a Romney run would dictate his plans, according to Deseret News. Romney has yet to announce a reelection run, but filed a “statement of candidacy” with the Federal Elections Commission Tuesday.

The Executive Director of the Tennessee Firearms association said Friday that Gov. Bill Lee (R), who has asked the legislature to deliver him a proposed”Red Flag Law,” which he calls an “Order of Protection” law, is treading on dangerous Constitutional grounds.
“It is not clear why Governor Bill Lee, who claims to support the Second Amendment, would propose a Red Flag law at this time. The circumstances indicate potentially two reasons,” John Harris told The Tennessee Star. “First, the Covenant School shooting fatalities have generated a public emotional response – something that he referenced in his April 11 statement. Second, activists Democrat state legislators are making a demand that more gun control be enacted now.”

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed gun restriction bills that will establish universal background checks for all firearm purchases as well as require safe firearm storage.

Negotiations on adjustments to Virginia’s two-year budget could stretch into the summer as budget wranglers in the General Assembly wait for a clearer picture of the state’s revenues, according to leading lawmakers.
Lawmakers adjourned the legislative session in February without a final agreement on amendments to the state’s budget that passed last summer. Instead, legislators agreed to pass a “skinny” budget that addressed a few key priorities – including funding to address a $200 million shortfall for school funding due to a calculation error.

Citing increased demand, the State Department has expanded processing times for passport applications and renewals. It’s now taking agents about three months to process routine passports, and seven to nine weeks for expedited international travel permits.

The Arizona-based Goldwater Institute (GI) sent a letter to the City of Phoenix Thursday, demanding it repeals a new “Prevailing Wage Ordinance for City Projects” ordinance.

Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Horne revealed data yesterday showing support for School Resource Officers (SROs) on school district campuses and said his office would continue pushing to see this across the state.
“There is overwhelming support among parents living in the Phoenix Union District (PXU), statewide, as well as classroom teachers, to keep children and staff safe by having school resource officers at the schools. A majority of Americans oppose male athletes competing in female sports and giving puberty blockers to children, a new YouGov survey revealed.
The survey, sponsored by The Economist, polled 1,500 Americans on a variety of public policy issues, including several transgenderism topics. The questions polled respondents on their opinions of transgender athletes competing on sports teams, permitting minors to access puberty blockers, parental rights and drag shows.
