More Republican women on average now own firearms than Democratic men, according to a Gallup poll released Thursday.
From 2019 to 2024, an estimated 33 percent of Republican women owned a firearm compared to only 29 percent of Democratic men, according to Gallup’s six-year groupings of ownership data. Compared to years 2013 to 2018, Republican women saw a 14-point spike in ownership.

Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen (R-Gilbert) confirmed on Monday he is considering a campaign to unseat Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes in 2026, and later said he is being urged to challenge the attorney general by multiple Arizona attorneys.
Mayes was declared the winner of her 2022 election against Abe Hamadeh, who is now the U.S. Congressman-elect for Arizona’s eighth district, by just 280 votes, making it the narrowest statewide election in the history of Arizona.

Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr on Thursday announced he is running for the Republican nomination for governor in 2026.
Carr confirmed filing the paperwork for his candidacy in a post to the social media platform X, where he said his campaign will seek to continue “the legacy of Brian Kemp, Nathan Deal and Sonny Perdue.”

After two Tennessee law enforcement agencies that serve Knoxville contradicted the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations (TBI), which last week warned the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua is present in all major Tennessee cities, the agency pointed The Tennessee Star to a media advisory explaining local law enforcement may not be aware of the gang’s human trafficking operations.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office stated last Saturday that Tren de Aragua members are the subjects of any investigations, and no associates of the gang are in its correctional facilities. Two days later, the Knoxville Police Department Chief Paul Noel said the department is aware of the gang, but is “not aware of any active members of Tren de Aragua in Knoxville.”

Two dozen states painted a grim picture for the Supreme Court about the future of women’s sports should the high court fail to take up an appeal in a brief filed Thursday.
The 24 states raised concerns regarding safety and fairness for female athletes in their brief which asks the Supreme Court to take up Warren Petersen v. Jane Doe, after the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit upheld a lower court’s injunction against a 2022 Arizona law, the Save Women’s Sports Act, which prohibits males from competing in female sports. The law was first challenged in April 2023 transgender-identifying students — alongside their parents — who wished to participate on girls’ sports teams.

Gov. Greg Abbott issued an executive order “to protect Texans from the coordinated harassment and coercion by the People’s Republic of China (PRC) or the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).”

The North Carolina legislature successfully overrode Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper’s veto Wednesday in a measure that opens up school choice vouchers to over 50,000 students.
The bill, Require ICE Cooperation & Budget Adjustments, added additional funds to the state’s school choice program for the thousands of students that have been held on a waitlist, according to The Center Square. Cooper vetoed the bill in September claiming it would have a “disastrous impact” on public schools, but the North Carolina House voted against the governor on Tuesday and the Senate finalized the veto override in a vote on Wednesday.

As the DOJ’s Bureau of Justice Statistics explains, “The United States uses two national data collection systems to track detailed information on homicides.” These consist of: death certificates collected by the states and compiled by the CDC. reports by local law enforcement agencies compiled by the states and aggregated by the FBI, which also generates estimates for agencies that don’t report. Death certificates have always provided broader and more accurate data than the FBI’s figures, but the gap between them has grown sharply under the Biden administration. This may indicate that local law enforcement agencies, states, and/or the FBI are undercounting murders. Furthermore, the Biden administration FBI inexplicably revised its pre-Biden murder data all the way back to 2003, elevating the counts in certain years by up to 7%. The FBI made these unprecedented alterations without so much as a footnote to inform the public. October brought Arizona’s lowest inflation rate in years with the Phoenix metro area inflation rate being 1.56% year-over-year – a decrease from 2.27% in August – according to the Common Sense Institute.
“This latest reading ends the over 2-year streak of inflation above the standard target of 2.0% annually,” reads the CSI report. “Historically, the Phoenix Metropolitan Statistical Area has experienced significant inflationary pressures, notably in June 2022, when inflation in Phoenix peaked at a record high of 13%, well above the national rate of 9.1%. This trend made Phoenix one of the fastest-inflating areas in the U.S.”

In the wake of the devastation impacting southwestern Virginia following Hurricane Helene, Gov. Glenn Youngkin is requesting additional federal assistance to support recovery efforts.
Youngkin submitted a request for $4.4 billion in federal support on Friday to President Joe Biden, President-elect Donald Trump and congressional appropriators. While the majority of Georgia Republicans issued statements on Wednesday marking the guilty verdict reached in the case against Jose Ibarra, who a court determined killed August University nursing student Laken Riley in February, at least three Democratic members of Georgia’s U.S. House delegation instead posted messages marking Transgender Day of Remembrance.
An illegal immigrant who entered the country in 2022, Ibarra was determined during the trial to be a member of the Venezuelan gang, Tren de Aragua. Prosecutors said he was “hunting for females” when he encountered Riley, who was jogging when she was attacked.

A majority of Americans support President-elect Donald Trump’s plan to declare a national emergency over the border crisis, according to a new poll. Declaring such an emergency would allow Trump to utilize the military to secure the border and help with his plan to deport violent criminal foreign nationals in the U.S. illegally.
The Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by pollster Scott Rasmussen Nov. 18-19. It asked: “President Trump has said that he will declare a national emergency because of the illegal immigration problem. This would let the Trump Administration use military force to help with a mass deportation of illegal immigrants. Do you favor or oppose declaring a national emergency to address the problem of illegal immigration?”
