Catholic News Agency A federal judge ruled to remove the requirement that women have three in-person doctor visits before receiving a chemical abortion drug. The judge approved at-home chemical abortions and allowed any North Carolina health care provider to prescribe the abortion pills. The decision also removes reporting requirements for nonfatal complications from abortion drugs. U.S. District Judge Catherine Eagles upheld some protections such as requiring an in-person consultation, examination, and ultrasound before obtaining a prescription for the drugs required for chemical abortions. While abortion advocates have hailed this as a victory, Christian organization North Carolina Values says the ruling may put women at risk by allowing “dangerous DIY in-home abortions” and put women at risk of forced chemical abortions, when abortion pills are smuggled into a mother’s drink without her knowledge or consent. Breitbart A secluded tribe in the Amazon rainforest is apparently grappling with the effects of high-speed internet since Elon Musk’s Starlink gave them access to the World Wide Web. The Marubo people, who live along the Ituí River, got access to the internet in September 2023, and it has brought significant changes to their community, the New York Times reported on Sunday. Seventy-three-year-old Tsainama Marubo said at first everyone was happy about the arrival of the internet because it meant her neighbors could talk to loved ones who live far away and have access to help when they experienced an emergency. The Daily Beast Steve Bannon was ordered to report to jail by July 1 by a federal judge in D.C. on Thursday, likely ending a years-long legal saga. The former Trump adviser was convicted in 2022 of contempt of Congress after he refused to comply with a subpoena issued by the House January 6 committee. In October of that year, D.C. District Court Judge Carl J. Nichols sentenced Bannon to four months in prison, on top of a fine, but held off on imposing the jail time while Bannon appealed. However, the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals shot down Bannon’s defense last month, leading the Justice Department to ask Nichols to finally put Bannon in the slammer. READ THE FULL STORY               

Washington Examiner As next month’s Republican National Convention approaches, it appears former President Donald Trump’s vice presidential search is intensifying. Vice presidential candidates “recently received vetting materials,” five sources familiar with the process told NBC News.  NBC News confirmed that Gov. Doug Burgum (R-ND) is among those who have received materials. Breitbart Farmers from across Europe took to their tractors again, swarming Brussels and blockading the border between France and Spain to firmly plant their opposition to the globalist Green Deal agenda in the minds of voters as they head to the polls for the European Parliament elections this week. “Farmers of the world, unite!” was the slogan as tractors shut down the Franco-Spanish border on both sides of the Pyrenees starting on Monday, according to Le Figaro, which reported that around 200 to 300 French farmers joined the protest which blocked at least seven crossings before disbanding on Tuesday. Spain’s ABC newspaper reports that the farmers demanded that the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) be “centred on the farmer”, rather than seeing subsidies flow to multinational growers or large landowners. Washington Examiner Republican National Committee Co-Chairman Michael Whatley said the RNC is prepared for the possibility Donald Trump may deliver his convention remarks from prison, noting the former president’s June 11 sentencing will come just days before the convention.  Trump is expected to accept the Republican Party’s nomination for the presidency at the Milwaukee convention, which will take place from July 15 to July 18. During an interview Tuesday, Newsmax host Rob Finnerty pressed Whatley on whether the RNC had contingency plans for Trump’s acceptance speech in the event Trump is sentenced to jail time. Following his guilty verdict last week, Judge Juan Merchan has scheduled sentencing for July 11, four days before the convention.
