The S&P 500 rose on Friday as investors geared up for the SpaceX IPO and waited for a potential peace deal between the U.S. and Iran.
The broad market index gained 0.7%, while the Nasdaq Composite added 0.6%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 497 points, or 1%.
Elon Musk’s rocket maker will debut on the Nasdaq later in the day. It will trade under the symbol SPCX and is expected to open at $165 per share, per FactSet. That’s well above its $135 IPO price.
